@6ypt+192hX932 if you pull out a recording of your discussion, and you did not get your manager’s consent, you would be crazy to use it in a conversation with HR or anyone. It is a criminal act.

Be smart.

What does a Rating of 2 and an Overlay of "Meets" mean?

My manager said he didn't agree with my 2 (thought I should be a 3) but basically said his hands were tied and that he was told to give me that rating. Not sure if I believe him but he's usually very honest about stuff like that, and I recorded my review because I knew he would say that and I wanted evidence in the event I needed it.

I was rated a 3 and didn't get a bonus. No raise either.

First time that's happened in 17 years. Only one other year did I not get a bonus, and every year we get around a 1% raise.

We had been told that due to COVID, bonuses would be highly unlikely.

Am in Tech.

There was no guidance on the risk overlay having a think to do with the bonus. A 2 will get a 49 pct bonus. But risk overlay lower than a 2 means that you have credibility issues.

So I got a 2 and had a 2 on risk overlay. Does that mean no bonus? Does my manager know this prior to giving me review? Can I challenge the rating? Or tell him I know it will be zero and ask to review that again? I think should be a 3, prior 4.

@2ctn+192hX932 it’s so hard to compete with tenured folks 17 plus years, then stop the constant trashing of old people, befriend them and ask them to teach you. That’s what I did 40 years ago. I realized the old timers carried more in their heads than entire large teams.

An entitled generation is going to have the reins soon enough and I for one have little faith that they can handle it.

Lot's of demotivated employees now. Can't get a good review no matter how hard you work.
If working lot's of overtime get a review that states "works lots of overtime due to ineffective time management", "needs improvement", and no bonus anymore. Skipping on the prior lot's of unpaid overtime hours as much as possible, to be totally honest. It makes no difference anymore and have been "punished" for it too.

Good luck OP.

The reality with the new ranking system is you can feel you have done a good job, and that may be true, but it’s now possible that others around you have done an even better job and you are simply the one on the bottom.

What the difference on 3? Do you have to have exceeds on risk overlay score to get the higher range or is meets ok

OP here, laugh all you want, I have busted my hind and performed my job but force ranked, I have all the proof to produce actual work done so fabrications are apparent in my review or bias. I went through the bogus Wells ethics line to report bullying and discriminatory practices...

1 is 0%
2 is 0% to 50%
3 is either 50% to 80% or 95% to 105% depending on your risk overlay score
4 is 100% to 120%
5 is 120%+
Above percents are based on accrual % so if your target is 10% and they accrue at 80% then 100% would be 8%.

As a 2 it's possible but your risk overlay rating really determines it. If you're risk overlay rating is meets then you can still get a bonus.

I test out by taking iq test, this will get you above a 5, you should ask about it to HR or your manager

I believe those marked as a 2 are capped at 50% of target max... for a 1....no idea...
