Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

What were the characteristics of the worse team that you ever worked for here?

How did you handle it before you got out?

Well, if you want to know the answer there is a 100+ page document on the OCC's website posted in January 2020 supporting their levying of fines against 8 executives. The document talks about an abusive environment and more. Read it. There's your answer!

Look at Krisko cult and you'll have your answer. Staggering level of brown-nosing and grandstanding, all modeled by the leader.

The root cause of any team you hated to be on is almost always the manager.

Hiring someone completely incapable, but had certs and slept with the previous team lead.
A team leader who would come down on you for doing less than them, but wouldn't mention it if you did more (irony of ironies, he had to call me for help a few years later).
Manager who left a few months after hiring me (never mentioned he was looking) and wasn't replaced for over a year.
Team lead who would blame you for not doing work, but hoarded the bulk of the work they were supposed to assign out.

So many people get by on politics, connections, and lies while those who actually head down and soldier, get things done, but are unwilling to play politics, so they get left behind.

Look at any of Mandy Norton's teams and you have your answer. Specifically in the "administrative" functions like governance and operations for Risk. Lazy, clueless, only hiring their friends, adding layers on layers and then talking about span of control? Typical people who create a mess and can't get out of it so have to throw everyone under a bus. Its amazing how much redundancies and inefficiency they have caused are now still around chasing their tails. And the id–ts in HR that allow them to do this are just as short sided, stupid, incompetent, lazy, and completely ineffective.

@1yej+190QPhmB, maybe we are in same group, my manager is same way! I was thinking they have many jobs, not just here. They never are around and they hire a tech secretary to do most of their work like using spell checking and setting up meetings.

My manager didnt even know my name or what our group does, i told them one time and they said "are you sure you do this here? I have never heard of this"

I'm thinking i can work here another 40 years and no one will even know i work here, and they just continue with payments and good increases. Who knows this place is strangest place i have ever worked

A total absence of management interest. I created a department but I also begged for just one 15 minute session with my manager for 3 months. I finally told someone to tell him I resigned and would be gone in a week, and left the company. He contacted me on my last day, and asked for an old powerpoint I did. What a waste of my time.

terrible manager who was clueless and did no work, probably had 2 other jobs. Employees toxic and do nothing as they work there 100 years already and say they finish their work 2 decades ago so now they just collect the cash and sabotage new employees work to protect their free money. Also illegally do harassment and bullying to protect their free money.

Processes you have to follow, as you start following the process two other processes pop up that state the process you are doing has changed and is no longer valid. The new correct process system will be running in two months....

Chaotic, lack of communication from manager, manager didn't care or know how to do her job, team had low morale.

everyone i worked with was toxic; they all work here decades doing exact same thing in InfoSec. Today they do nothing, guess they finish their work a few decades ago but still working here doing nothing now. They are like a cult and team up on anyone who threaten their free ride.

Myself, I got out by luck, threw in a resignation as got a full time position 100% remote permanently in a technical role (not paper pusher role). None of them were expecting it, but have only 2 days left now

Really any group run by a failed Bank of America hire. Sh!t runs downhill from there no matter what leadership here tells you.

  • A team that it is not safe to disagree is not an environment focused on growth, these are

teams focused on control

  • ones with toxic people along with their sinister agendas
  • The ones that belittle you and try to tear you down
  • ones with toxic teams working on same team decades and act like a cult

the teams with these traits s—, you know who you are! Your last day will be Feb 2021!

Characteristics? People who blamed others for their own shortcomings.
How was it handled? Did not let it negatively affect how I did my job.
