Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

CIB thoughts

I recently joined the CIB group within sales and trading group coming from a large competitor.

It seems like CIB is very small compared to the larger players on the street. Wondering if anyone has a view on how it is here and what are the long term foresights given the cost cutting and asset cap limitations.

The business is fairly profitable but it is not a huge player which has helped other larger banks diversify themselves during the pandemic.

I heard there were talks of merging with Goldman but that may just be a rumour.

Somebody is going to spill MPNI on these threads. Does the SEC monitor this?

You’re either

  1. A troll
  2. An id–t
  3. A reason to short WFC
  4. Both 3 & 4

You seriously didn’t know that before you accepted the job from a competitor?
