Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

What’s happening to the Redwood Shores Campus?

I’ve been reading that certain “Hubs” will remain throughout California but what about the warehouse at HQ in RWC rn? And the operations teams there that support it? Is the warehouse moving to Austin too?Does anyone have any info which teams are here to stay...I feel like we get told one thing then next thing you know the “real” decision is announced later...

"“Oracle is implementing a more flexible employee work location policy and has changed its corporate headquarters from Redwood City, California, to Austin, Texas. We believe these moves best position Oracle for growth and provide our personnel with more flexibility about where and how they work,” CNBC quoted the company’s spokesperson.

Oracle believes that by implementing a “more modern approach to work,” the quality of employees' lives and approach to work will get better."

Translation: Move to Austin or you will be first refused promotion, be put on a PIP/ moved to a 'legacy technology' and will be asked to leave eventually. If you have not been getting pay raises above 3% YoY, its a clear sign your company wants you to quit and is waiting for the right opportunity

for those who are in CO office

Clearly, you're an outsider. Also, English isn't your first language, your grammar gives you away,

First of all, there is more than one office in CO, Which one are you talking about? Can you name it by its three letter code?

If you're going to troll, don't be lazy and at least make the effort to do it right.

some people have no idea what CO office are consist off, but I dont blame them.

the bottom line is all the CO TSC position will be transition to TX after the pandemic is over. The management requires support to be onsite and unfortunately some of female leadership have zero idea about the technology and shifting focus to make their number looks good sadly. CO cost center is way too high, TX move is certainly coming.

there will be more laid off coming all over the states, specifically for MA and FL office this Dec. once that is done, CO office will start winding down and transition to a more efficient model.

for those who are in CO office , you guys should start realize why the buildings are empty day by day. be prepared , that is all.

Moving Customer Support from CO to TX?
Two things:

  1. Customer Support is also in UT and FL - what about these locations?
  2. And, given Larry’s email, it would sound like that wouldn’t mean much anyway since WFH will be the option.

Better a democratic government

Yeah, that must be why so many people want to leave the former golden state. Because it's so awesome:

And this poll was taken before California's draconian and utterly ineffective lock downs.

Don't blame Oracle for moving to Texas. Blame the democratic government of California for
having an unfriendly business environment.

Better a democratic government than the undemocratic TX government that includes Texas AG Paxton who is trying to disenfranchise millions of voters in other states to overturn a democratic election. It’s quite the state Oracle is moving to, but one shouldn’t be surprised given Larry’s sympathies for Trump.

I was told they will be winding down CO office and move customer support to TX which is a very smart move

I hope more companies will follow Oracle.

It is virtually certain that there will be more.

Consider you are lucky that they didn’t move HQ to India, Romania or Mexico 😂
