Was anyone laid off while on leave? Paid/unpaid leave.
Does the 60 day notice/pay continuation differ for us then if you were at work?

I have been here since 2003 . One layoff and second time a relocation. Yes .. I saw a supervisor get called at his mothers funeral...
Leave is not a safety net ... stay ahead of the mess as best you can... last purge I ended up being able to post out of the carnage for a few years...
I'd love to see them cut someone who is out on military time off.
I was on medical leave and planning to return when I received notification. My leave was certified and covered under fmla until later in the month, but I was planning to return early since I’m a good employee and don’t try to milk the system. I definitely think using quarantine or leave time this year put me on a short list. There was someone in the same role with less tenure at my branch who was retained so far. Their sales numbers were good since they were not constantly pulled to work outside their primary role. I’m sure that played a big factor.
One more question, has anyone on leave received the email with the information regarding the layoff?
One of the other threads mentions a woman who was on maternity leave when she was laid off. Makes me so sad.
I was on hold for a total of 5 hours today trying to figure this out. It seems like a good amount of people that were laid off were on medical leave. I didn't get an answer to my question, either.
The question is if there is a difference on the 60day notice and salary continuation. Is it the same as if I were still working? The reason being, is someone mentioned on here that there is a difference between 2020 and 2021 pay outs.
So yes, it does matter.
Doesn’t matter
You can be laid off whether leave is fmla protected or not
it depends on whether your leave is "protected" or not. If protected, you can't be laid off while on leave.
If not protected, you can be laid off and it works the same way as if you were at work - 60 days nonworking notice, then severence
To understand what is protected or not protected, refer to teamworks for policy on "leaves"
