I think it stands for affluent customer segment. What do these people do for the bank? I've met several but still don't understand why the position exists... Not trying to sound insensitive or anything. I really want to know if they are adding value and if they will be kept on during the layoffs.

WELLS has so many of these positions that in my opinion are pointless. They just fired tons of personal banker 1s and assistant managers. They should get rid of these people that are overpaid to sound fancy and hound people
How many of these coaches are there?
They are the most useless position out there, and one that should have been eliminated as opposed to the pb1s. All they do is get on the phone with premiers and grill them as to why every customer didn’t meat with a partner. They are the definition of Old Wells Fargo.
They serve as dotted line managers to premier bankers and also do some coaching with licensed pb2s as well. Basically they are performance coaches that try to get premier bankers to produce at the highest level possible with lending, investments, etc. My ACS has roughly 30 premier bankers so I don’t talk to him all that often other than in a group session, which gives you an idea of how thinly they are spread as well. I can tell you that without them there would not be a ton of “sales” related accountability since branch managers and DMs have a lot of other things on their plates, so I think they are here to stay, but who knows where this thing is headed...
