:@1spx+18b35aIq Care to name someone better than RB in the history of WF? Who’s done more to bring $, growth, stature. Ever. NO ONE.

And who cares if he Lear jet flew to Hong Kong. All these guys float around international on company dime. Big deal. Tell me how that impacts what he did to elevate info sec at WF? Yeah the guy was hard to like in a lot of respects but his record speaks for itself.

CISO under CIO is a terrible idea that virtually always weakens security controls. This reporting structure will be changed by force when the next Shoreview-type incident happens and the CISO is pushed out. Just a matter of time. I’m surprised there isn’t an MRA on this already.

You must be joking. RB, the same guy who arranged a trip to HK on pretext of work, just so that he can have his suits tailored?

You have really low standards.

RB was the best WFC has ever had. Guy brought more stature and $ to InfoSec than anyone. RB could sell the OC, CEO, and BOD on anything infosec related.
GO is riding his coattails of what he put in place and has diminished the stature of the organization as others have said, now just being a toy arm of tech while svb drinks his Starbucks.

CISO under tech mgt is a great excuse. I know CISOs who found a way from under to above. If he had failed to do so in a bank, he might not cut it for CISO. Information Security is like a boil that is about to erupt and not just at Wells.

The CISO will not, and cannot, do a good job while he is under the Technology manager. That he had not been successful at extricating the group from Tech shows that he is just a lackey. Probably why he seemed "excited" that security was number 2 on the 6S strategy.

In the end, he is exactly what SVB wanted. A "yes man" with no balls that will push security to the side in favor of technology projects. While I agree that WF crippled itself with the fear of risk. The current CISO is happily undermining all of that for SVB and one of our next "scandals" will be a data breach.

I see a lot of tech related posts on here, curious on what percentage of posters are technology people.. I get it, we'll never know.
