Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Dec 1 Layoff Thread

Have heard from several managers that Dec 1 is another cut date. Anyone know which groups are being targeted this round?

Look at Saul's numbers the past 3 months, yes I track this c-ap. He has 25k under him, his numbers barley go down at all. It fact, they are actually going up now. Guessing he's getting his off shore ducks in a row for mass lay offs here in the states.
Charlies over all numbers have decreased almost 8k since aug with yesterday showing the biggest decrease in numbers in 3 months. Also guessing that 60 days ago was a big lay off day and we are now seeing those deductions in head counts on TW's. We have a looooooong way to go.

There were layoffs today. Somebody from my team got the notice and I hear it didn't go well.
This person is remote and in another state and I don't think I ever even spoke to him since I've been in my current role. This is EIT btw.

What I was told is no more in 2020, but there will clearly be more in 2021.

No... you are still employed by the bank for 60 days after you get your notice. You just quit

It’s true. My manager told me that she had to take a training Ekod about “sympathizing with the employees “ and it was due for her to complete no later than 11/30. My manger also was concern about 12/1

I've heard for months that spans and layers has to be completed by year end. I'm beginning to doubt it, but we'll see...

Hello @1gqi+18arYRQ1: your point is understandable. The cuts will not be uniformly administered . Some areas will be very badly impacted while others not at all. If you are in a strategic project to roll out agile (just saying), you are safe. If you are in a project that is planning saving in millions , you don’t have anything to fear.

If you are in a support role on a system that is currently in a maintenance mode even though the alternate strategic system is also alive, then you should be concerned .

If you and your manager are not in good terms and he/she needs to cut two people, your name is more likely to be in the list than not.

I hope that helps.

I don’t see how they can cut IT more, at least our area. We are down to a skeleton staff already.

12/1 is the real date; will hit IT and more management.

If your manager says they dont know that is not true

Its a Tuesday and right before the holiday IT change freeze in mid December I wouldn't doubt they would do it.

Every Tuesday for the foreseeable future is a possibility for lay offs. No particular date because the contiuely adjust. Nothing you can control though so just keep your head down and do your job. Or look for another job.

I am not a manager. If there are layoffs this close to year end, shame on management. Certainly it is legal, but it is immoral to let people go this close to year end, due to holidays. That being said, I am not surprised to hear that there may be more layoffs this week. Being this close to year end, top management has a very good idea of what year end results will look like. If they are short of some goal/metric, it makes all the sense in the world to let another bunch of folks go.

It's the sad reality of WFC post scandals. Point the finger to Tolstedt for enacting unit sales goals in retail and Stumpf for being naive about it.

It was all about the third, now it’s the first. We’ve also heard layoffs were on pause until 2121.

Just wish they really would cull the management herd in my area. Mine is so good at skating she could go to the olympics.

You guys are total denial and are not at the manager level to call the OP a fool. All managers know this: 12/1 is a real date and lots of job losses are planned . Ccibt is included for instance.
