Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

All these people waiting to retire or a package...

We have 5 ops for 15 stores in 5 districts. I love ops people but tell me you don't have an ops that has been in the job for years an decades making 100k a year to passively babysit 4-6 stores. All these people waiting to retire or a package. If you haven't noticed the Kool-Aid people are trying extra hard to stay useful.

At this point the should get rid of DMs.

You only need one DM to cover half of any state. They don't need to ever really be in store and if they do, then that can be arranged. 1-3 max DMs per state, 2-3 ops people per state. Oh man my shares in the company now actually made money. Big Read needs to lay off the Big Crack. They are losing so bad in so many ways. It getting to the point where they either decide to pull the plug or stay comatose.

  1. You know, you are probably 100% correct. Who needs DMs or Ops! Seriously! But, I know one thing, I for sure hope NOBODY shows you ANY empathy what so ever when you are next on the chopping block.
  2. I don't know where you get this $100,000 figure for an Ops position, because they certainly do NOT make near that much!
  3. And cheers to the person who wrote about cleaning up Retail messes and helping at the drop of a hat with no thanks whatsoever, not even a "Merry Christmas"!
  4. So, yes, you'll probably easily get by without an Ops person, but go on with your big high horse statements and see how you feel when you have no one to go to for help and have to listen to big blow hards like yourself after you get laid off from the good job you apparently have right now.
  5. And, hope you get to experience the feeling of giving your life and dedication to a company that looks at you as a number and not a valuable person. After all they've said for the last 9 months is how much they care about us and our safety. And then turn around and lay a bunch of people off. I get it. They can only sustain for so long since retail people aren't willing to dig in and make some sales.
  6. Maybe if you work in a Retail store and did your job, they wouldn't need to get rid of all of these people.

Sorry former Ops Consultant here and 99.9% of the work is just busy work nonsense generated by DM's, RD's and other "leaders" who are desperate to show their relevance by creating all this nonsense for Ops Consultants to run around and do. Its mostly BS and the part that is not BS can be done by the store without their help.

LMAO, yes it is also funny how most of those people would run at light speed to get an SM, GM, DM, Director, or Ops job if it were offered to them. Let the haters hate because over half of them cannot get the, "fries" added to their orders. LMAO

It is funny how the almighty sales folk always look at everyone around them and think they know that everyone else does nothing when it takes so much to get you all of the things that you need to do your jobs and be successful and win contests, etc. while your potential replacements from McDonald's are one spatula away from becoming your replacement, "any cases or screen protectors with that?" LOL

HAHA.. Clearly someone triggered an ops consultant. Look, hate to say it, but you do nothing. You were prob a big bad assistant manager and think you were relevant. Go eat another cookie. Trust me, you are not valuable to the company (if you are an end user Ops consultant). Ours is named E* and she is about as valuable as square peg in a round hole.

Retail GM's will not compete with Indirect or vice versus for jobs in the new layout, as nobody wants a GM role in this company anymore. Retail is trash. Up here in NY, we are ready to walk before taking a job in a store.

I have been both ops and management and I can tell you that your ops people do more for all of you every single day than you can ever truly comprehend and typically to truly thankless audiences as well. Imagine being the first persons to have hear about every single screw up that any of you commit in any store or district and always being the first persons that GMs, SM's, DMs, AND RETAIL DIRECTORS ALL so willingly serve up as the scapegoats or garbage dumpsters for any/all of the blame for whatever it may be. If you only knew how much your ops people do for all of you behind the scenes every day, all day long to keep you all running smoothly you would think it was impossible and laughable to even try to do it for one store team let alone multiple stores/districts. Your comments are actually funny because so many of your messes that ops cleans up on a regular basis is because most you either will not nor know how to follow the simplest of instructions and they do it all without even thinking about potentially being thanked for do so. I have been both and I know what each does and what the work load and thanklessness is like. Now go break something else so somebody else can take the blame for it and make it better without you ever knowing it.
