More cuts in the works for QA, 3rd qtr. Learn to test A11y and by the way, "we want you coding automation scripts side by side with dev in the office" ... should be no trouble for you to hurry up and learn java...
We're also getting ready to announce two CIOs, get ready for the split of apps and those software engineer titles. That's supposed to have been announced first week of Jan.
I know what it's been used, and what it's supposed to mean, and it's stupid beyond belief. I don't care if you're making $1/hr under the table and you'll die in 24 hours if you lose your job. You're not a slave. It's sensationalist BS with no basis in reality.

I am right behind you to a real tech job I just got, this was only paper pushing at best.
People using the word "slave" to mean "job they don't like" need to get a clue. Good grief. If your boss doesn't pay you at all, routinely heaps physical/psychological abuse upon you, and occasionally rapes you, then go for it.
I'm IT, I just gave notice.
If I was going to get let go on the 21st I'd be a little bummed about missing out on some severance but it's not worth the extra two months tied to the boat anchor formerly known as Wells Fargo.

BTW, the poster saying they can cut 50%? IT is a trainwreck, but you can't cut half the department all at once without breaking most everything.
