Equity value within the market (aka, WFC stock price) is impacted mostly by short-term investor sentiment.

This is why a stock price can go up (as WFC is) while at the same time the company itself can be a mess internally (as Wells Fargo is).

The perception among the investing public is "WF is a mess right now, but they're getting better".

John Stumpf and Carrie Tolstedt are long gone. They were fired, had pay clawed back, banned from working in finance ever again and are going down as 2 of the worst execs in corporate history.

They are gone.

New leadership are cleaning up their mess.

Wells is going to be strong again but will take some time. The long term future is bright.

Fascinating fact: John Stump didn’t want to hear any negativity either. He didn’t want to listen to negative facts and figures, questions and allegations that there were problems in the bank. He was so blindly “positive” that he fired employees who escalated their concerns. And even after all the fraud came to light, he still indignantly defended the aggressive hard-sell tactics. And he praised Carrie Tolstedt publicly.

Being clueless and closed-off doesn’t look good on anyone, from his level down to yours.

This is good info to have after just getting company stock deposited in your 401Ks. I will move 90% of it out as soon as we get access.

Not that OP sounds like he/she needs anyone to stand up for him/her, but I would be interested in hearing why the objection too. What’s the deal? Did anyone actually read the article?

Zacks is a respected quantitative research resource. The article is balanced. But, in the end their current rating is a HOLD, which I already knew because I like to stay up on news about the company I work for. And I didn’t know this until I read the article, but Zacks gives WFC a Value Score of D. They only recommend buying stocks with a Value Score of A and B.

So, reading the news, and understanding the company you work for might make you a more valuable informed employee. And it might save you some money.

You’re not working for Disneyland, the Happiest Place on Earth. Time to be informed, not a good time to bury your head in the sand.

Well some OP yesterday said we will only find reliable information from Teamwork’s and the News.

She was quite adamant that most information found on this Lay-off Board is unreliable. And she also came back, after being questioned about her motives, to stress the point that she is not biased in any way: either pro-WFC or anti-WFC.

So, now you guys think I should be fired for giving you the news? Please do explain your objections.
