This place is not a reliable source of information. It is best to stick with official sources like the news or the front page of Teamworks. 3 out 5 posts here is hypothetical and lies.
Simple:
Red downticks= People disagree with post and/or have assessed comment to be non-trustworthy or not knowledgeable.
Green upticks= People agree with post and/or have assessed poster to be trustworthy and knowledgeable.
To me, the truth rings through loud and clear. So does misinformation and manipulation.
I might have a better bs-dectector than most, but I am fully capable of coming to this conclusion on my own.
OP : How do you, personally, define and differentiate between misinformation and real information?
I define misinformation as being vague, exaggerated, deceptive and including nothing to explain or substantiate their reasoning.
I am not claiming every post to be 100% true and factual, however I do think anyone who comes to a lay-off site to attempt to discredit posts that do not come “from Teamwork’s or the news” is not revealing their true intent.
I am the OP. I have not taken a negative or a positive stance where the company is. All I am saying is that there is no significant backing of all the things that people are saying and a lot of it is misinformation. Hell, I could be from a competitor bank and say I have been from a Barclays and say negative things like as if I actually work here. There is no real way to provide any real proof in these forums. This is why Reddit exists. Misinformation can get moderated there, not here.

No one ever claimed everything written here is true, it’s called a rumor site for a reason, and we all come here to read rumors and speculations, things we won’t find in the news.Some rumors turn out to be true, some not. But it can be very informative, you just need to learn how to read it.
Most of troll posts are pretty obvious, just skip it until mods nuke them.
As for the empty statements, those get downvoted pretty quick, just wait an hour to see how it turns out.

Been at Wells for over a decade and can confirm, this is not a reliable website.
Sometimes we get someone with some actual inside knowledge about layoffs, which is the point, but it's very seldom.
There is sometimes some good post-layoff info, like "my team was let go today, we're in X department" or info about the process and pay, but that's not often.
But 90% of the rest is trolling, people upset with D&I, people asking investing questions (seriously?), sometimes we get pump and dump day traders, there's a lot of venting by angry current and probably former employees (whiners).
There are a lot of well meaning people asking medical/investement questions here, which is a very bad idea.

I stop by occasionally for the entertainment value but if I want facts, I'll ask my manager. I've been trying to get laid off for a while now and with very few exceptions, I've seen nothing here that gave me anymore insight than what I'd hear on the office rumornet.

Really? Everyone knows that anonymous internet sites are the most reliable sources of information ever devised. There's no wide-spread misinformation on any of them. Most secure site in history.
In truth, we have 1 or 2 posters who are pro-Charlie for whatever reason. Common sense points towards these posters as the trolls who have come to the board to provoke.
This is a board for WFC employees who are concerned about layoffs and the conditions at WFC that have led to layoffs. The tone of a board about layoffs is naturally going to lean towards a negative vibe about the bank.
If you don’t like what you are reading, the answer is simple and straightforward: stay off the board. Or start another board.
If I am an atheist, and I go to a board set up by church-followers to disagree with their beliefs, than I am the troll.
As someone who has been with the bank since its founding and has seen lots of change, I can attest to there being a lot of shenanigans and tomfoolery on these new fangled web sights.

I’ve been at the bank for 47 years. A lot of info here is true, but if you are new to the bank you might not realize it as some info requires you to hunt around teamworks or just learn from experience.

Definitely not true. I’m a long-term employee, know the bank well, and am out here more than I wish I was. But I can tell the trolls from the real posters. This OP is attempting to discredit valid posts in the only way he/she knows how.
