So was I the only one who thought this was awful last minute at 3pm eastern time on the day before? It seemed like our dear leader thought of it at the last minute.

After his diversity snafu, I doubt he'll be able to utter an unscripted word for many years to come.
Oh that's right - he sent out a video and I didn't have time to watch it. I can read faster than I can watch a video - why does he use videos so often? It takes time away from the work I'd rather be doing - real smart hit to my productivity. Oh, Charlie Boy. I guess I'll watch it in my "free" time???
Agree that our CEO’s Thanksgiving message was ridiculous and hastily put together. I would love to know who thought it was a good idea to publish such insincere, meaningless drivel at the 11th hour. Just stupid.
The messages from CS and MM sicken me. They are so fake and obnoxious. MM didn't used to bother me, but she does now. I wish they would both go away.
All I can say is there is karma. And it does come back to you; I just saw it recently happen to someone who thought he was untouchable.

The entire message came across as frosty, cold and icy. Nothing warm and heartfelt.

It is not up to you to determine what anyone else thinks is important.
He is a poor choice all the way around. I can’t think of one positive thing to say about him. He just got paid $36,000,000 for loading up the C-Suite with more overpaid senior executives and Im guessing he has cost the company more money than he has cut. So far:
- No meaningful cost-cutting
- Increased costs related to the C-Suite
- No progress to report on the asset cap
- Unable to find buyers for the LOBs he has put on the market
- No technology improvements
- Demotivated and demoralized employees
- Poor communication skills
If any employee needs to be placed on a Performance Improvement Plan, it’s our not-so-beloved CEO.
His performance outcomes are significantly below expectations.
And at his level, he should not be reading a message written by others. To be sincere, these should be his words.
Let’s see. My manager was laid off so I do worry about her. My peers...well, they have departed for other areas in the bank to escape the dumpster fire here so those of us who remain have to pick up the slack because they won’t backfill. So there is plenty to worry about instead of a PR message.
However, the above example is why folks find our new management tone deaf and only interested in the stock price and the C suite.
I watched the first 30 seconds to confirm he did indeed still have a smug look on his face, during his insincere message and turned it off. He and his messages are a joke. We know you care zero about us employees CS. Just give us the common courtesy to at least be honest with when we should expect to hear real answers about layoffs. As much as he thinks it, we’re not dumb just because we’ve worked here longer than a year.
I don't care if CS of any other exec or manager says happy anything.
Worry about your peers and your manager, CEO's saying happy stuff is just PR anyway.
Worry about something important.
