Thinking about a B2B role?

I was thinking about applying for a role in B2B and was told that it is not the best channel to be in right now. Anyone have any experience to share? I was under the impression I could make better money?

SMB is worse than BAM. Just don't do SMB. Our target is 1200ish. If you go for it and plan to put in all the work after reading the great comments from b2b reps here.. go for BAM. I've seen two SS get promoted to BAM this year without doing the SMB role. Right now in smb daily expectations are 50 calls a day with 75 on Wednesdays. We are asked to sell 5 BJ - 15 OT - 20 BuSS a month. 20 new customer meetings, 20 existing customer meetings, 30 opportunities, and create 10 new logos a month. If we do that and hit our monthly quota of 50 new gross adds and 12500 sales dollars we get 1250 target.

And people say we don't count as B2B ;)

Don’t do it. I’ve been in B2B sales for 10+ years. Came here last year and this has by far been the most stressful job I’ve ever had. I work long hours and I’m missing quota due to COVID19. I’m looking to leave. And I agree, upper management is ruining this company.

Don’t do anything B2B it’s all about slamming Blue Jeans and other stupid stuff on customers accounts and if you don’t it’s micromanaged and the pay is awful after covid

I’m in B2B right now, and let me tell you it’s not worth it. Easily one of the hardest roles in Verizon. If you enjoy mental stress, lackluster leadership and customers who will treat you like a whipping boy for Verizon then go for it. You can make good money, but I work with a lot of tenured BAMs who haven’t been making good money for a while and other BAMs who really are solid, not even make a commission check lately. You better sell BlueJeans and OT, and be prepared to be micromanaged like crazy.
You can really build up your resume, have the ability to beef up you business acumen and gain a ton of technology knowledge. I’d say really think about it, if possible ask about the territory you’d be covering and try to find out how the last BAM who had that area did.
I’m looking to go to telesales or leave for another company. Not worth my sanity, and besides ol haircut Hans has driven this company into the ground.

I am in B2B now. Been here for about 14 months and it is the toughest most stressful job in the company. If you like micromanage, stress like you never felt before, pressure, long hours, but make a decent living then this is a job. It is a great job to learn. You will improve your technical acumen that other companies find valuable. You will get tested mentally and forget about taking an extended vacation. You are still required to be responsible for your sales activity and quota. The money is pretty good because B2B still has a quarterly and monthly commission. However, the business environment is changing and you are now required to basically slam Bluejeans and One Talk. Get in, learn 1-2 years max and save your sanity.
