Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Just shows!

It really shows the true nature of true culture when the corrective action rollout is marketed as improving overall morale. What a crock.

Actions do speak louder than words . I can tell you that our store does what is best for us. We pay no mind to the shenanigans coming from home office. If we want to get rid of a less than perfect employee, we just cut them off the schedule. If you show up late for work three times, you're off the schedule. If you don't show up for work when you're scheduled, you no longer get scheduled. We don't have to fire you, you're going to fire yourself.

“We have no intention of doing this c-ap.” What the hell. Actions speak louder than words jack. Every time we turn around we are getting the sh– end of the stick. You want morale to improve? Gut the executive suit like they did the rest of the company. The us vs. them had to stop and starts with a decrease in VPs.

I'm sure that it was the company line - AOH and MLS. I'm just saying I was there when DG said it.
I wasn't going to say anything about the insanity of the better customer service experience.
He scared me. Naval Academy, Marine Corp. Officer.
Aye aye Sir!
Of course a complete and utter failure right!

Take a breath. The company said it. Both mouth pieces were repeating a line that they may or may not have contributed in creating. However they said it to employees and in a press release. They cast their employees as a barrier to good customer service as a justification for firing them. That's the company since 2013. It's a terrible place being run by awful people.

It’s going to be used against those who are left. We can’t make them quit, we don’t want them to collect unemployment. Write them up and put in their file to get rid of them. Again, another great motivational strategy implemented by our wonderful leadership. Improve morale. What a joke.

It was BS, not DG who lied. Here's the article as printed in Shelf Awareness. No matter who said it, it was a bald faced lie. It added insult to injury by helping to underscore how far the company had failed to live up to its own values. BS even says those laid off were encouraged to apply for part time work. https://www.shelf-awareness.com/issue.html?issue=2127#m22195

It is akin to laying off 10% of stores workforce in order to improve customer service.
