This selfish post illustrates the toxic culture at WF to a tee – every man/woman for him/herself. From Scharf on down – what's in it for ME? Why are you negatively affecting ME? ME, ME, ME!!!

There is a huge difference between back office (non-revenue generating) and front office (revenue generating) positions, the latter of which requires actual performance against actual performance measures. You either do the job or you don't.

In my experience across a couple of banks, including this one, I tend to see more toxicity and poor management in the back office. There is typically no accountability, toxic managers prevail, and numerous roles, especially those in information security, IT, and IT Risk are poorly defined performance wise and lend themselves to b.s. where people who can b.s. survive for years on end.

At least in my experience here in security its pretty bad. a ton of people rolling around making up work to look important, lots of people constantly announcing themselves on calls, blasting emails, etc... Its the typical "self marketing" that is seen in other places that are poorly managed.

There’s a difference between doing what you have to do to support your family while acknowledging the company and culture is c-ap vs being a cheerleader for the company and having your head up your a–.

why i am leaving my 6 figure job at wells fargo as a senior software engineer. The issue here is they fill your day with menial tasks with no impact. Most i would think dont even need to be done more like fake work. I was hoping here would give better work life balance as a minimum benefit since salary, perks and benefits cannot match a tech company. Pay is just too low along with beneifts and perks.

On the other hand, the average life at a tech company is about 3 years, although the pay is unmatchable, benefits and stock. Also they have any drink for free you would want to drink , free food, occasional free trips across teh country for team building events to a c-sino, skiing, etc.

I like it here, too. I don't want to go. It seems like everyone who says that they like it here want the bank to succeed gets negged. Says a lot about the people here. Maybe that's why the bank is having problems.
I wish all of the negative people would leave and go taint someone else's company.

Well OP - as long as you’re good, that’s all that matters right?

Apparently working for a company convicted of fraud, customer abuse, employee abuse, firing of Whistle Blowers, securities fraud, deceitful CEOs, insurance scams, and unethical business practices doesn't get in the way of OPs ability to have a happy career.

OP, seems like you’re in the bargaining phase of denial. Please know you will struggle mightily to find a role with a respectable company once you’re RIF’d.

I like working here too. I think everyone is trying to make the company better and help the customer. But this does not apply to the execs.
