Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Does your leadership keep canceling meetings?

What’s up with senior leaders canceling meetings? Total lack of leadership. Literally every meeting gets canceled. Everyone dodges questions and they don’t “know” anything. Wells Fargo has let the media and rumor mill determine what people are told. They all need a Leadership 101 class.
Upper leaders just s—up to each other. Your experience too?

What good is revenue if you can’t figure out how to parlay it in to a respectable profit?

I had a neighbor who was involved in a highly questionable multi level marketing business. While involved, she was all over FB boasting about her sales. Constantly pushing how successful she was because of how much product she was selling. You can see where I’m going. No mention about her % payout, investment in product, debt incurred setting up a room in her home, Interest on that debt, customer returns, packaging and postage to mail what she sold, cost to attend expensive seminars, and then taxes. At the end of the year, after paying her taxes, she realized she actually lost money after her year of hard work.

So, no: doing fine in revenue is an attempt to find a positive spin to put on yet another earnings miss.

Not experienced meetings being pushed back but the I don't know anything about anything is frustrating.

My manager's manager keeps pushing out items. The delays are for ridiculous reasons.

Agree that there is a difference between don’t know and can’t say. What’s worse is when your employees know you know and they keep saying they don’t.

Same. Yes. No communication of real information. Meetings keep being moved around.

There is a difference between don’t know and can’t say. Not sure who you mean by “senior leader” but if they don’t know, wouldn’t consider them senior leaders.

If you’re wondering / asking if there are going to be layoffs, that’s pretty clear. Charlie said this in his email to the company about earnings. We did fine in revenue but not in profit. Continues to say wells costs too much, by a lot. To this this doesn’t mean a lot of headcount, in large part, being chopped, is living a dream.

No issues with it here. The communication is actually pretty good other than there is some stuff that is not acceptable in a larger forum like the specifics of layoffs etc. but that's always been the case. You get that during one-on-ones with your manager anyhow if it's relevant to you.
