@2vgg+17vSQTTA Thank you!!!
You definitely put @1muf+17vSQTTA in his place. If he would of read this then he wouldn’t of been so angry and felt the need to make this post up. Obviously he doesn’t know what he is talking about and wants everyone to be Miserable just like him. Well thank you Verizon for helping me and my family and yes, I did it the right way. There is nothing wrong with family watching your kids if you read the link that@ 2vgg+17vSQTTA posted. If you pay you family to watch your kids because of COVID-19 and they are not the normal caretaker, then it’s ok.

WOW you the kind of mo–n to justify the theft of things that don't belong to you at any cost. Why don't you put your real name down here.. what are you scared of? Post your real name and your work email address so we know who you are so we can report you to HR for the theft of something that is not yours . There is always one of you bad apples in a bunch, A$$hole!

I bet you were a bottom performer cause. You sound like you got a raise and can afford to come out of pocket for your child care.
Are you happy that people that work hard and made more money than you, got a pay cut too??

I bet you were the one that made this post up. Don’t be so bitter and grow up. Some people actually need it and it sounds like you’re disgruntle and dislike some of your co workers. Just because you didn’t take the help doesn’t mean you know everyone’s situation. FYI family can watch them as long as they are not your usual caretaker. You’re the only one upset.

Well if you would of applied then you would of been able to READ what the requirements are... So are you one of those that don’t claim tax credits either??? Sounds like it... As long as it’s not your spouse plus they asked what relationship the person was to me and I answered correctly plus asked my DM... Yes on certain things you can’t hire family BUT this is different and sorry but COVID 19 isn’t in the “Code of conduct” because it was written before this craziness happened. So why don’t you go to work tomorrow and click on the link and when you read it and find out you’re wrong then you can come back and apologize. If she was my regular caregiver then, yes it would be wrong but guess what she was the only person I could find that would do it and yes she got paid for her time. It’s not my problem that you have so much unnecessary pride that you can’t take help from a company that is giving you help. Some people are single parents and need the help. FYI you don’t have to use it every day, just the days you pay someone to watch your kids.

You need to rethink your ethical argument and really considering leaving Verizon. You are the kind of employee that we don't want working here. I have 2 kinds and my normal childcare situation came to and end because of COVID. You are an id–t to think that COVID is so bad that you can't hire someone. I am sorry, you just are a really stupid person making excused to get over on the company and to violate the credo and the code of ethics we all agree to. I had zero problems finding someone to fill in for the days my wife could not look after our kids. And, I did not even apply for the childcare credit because we only needed for 3 days a week. I don't care what your situation is every single ethics training course in Verizon forbids what you did. If it were me I would not only fire you, I would take legal action against you for theft. There are NO and I repeat, NO excuses and all the code of conduct training you took and signed off on as completed actually spells this out clearly. You can't hire family members for ANYTHING, it's call conflict of interested and it's in the training!

If you felt the need to do what you did then you needed to go to HR and work out the conflict of interest clause we all agreed too and have to do every year.

I can't believe you don't understand this, only and id–t would not get this. Pay the money back and just shut up about it!

Please leave the company, you are making Verizon look bad.

@1fhq+17vSQTTA as long as you followed the documented rules you are fine. As I recall, it was ok to have family members (NOT spouses) provide the care. However, if you shared a caregiver with someone else who also worked for VZ, they could NOT double dip. There were also people applying for the credit for hours they were not working so.....

If you read it, it says that if you can’t have your normal child care take care of your children and have to pay someone.... Well during this time of COVID-19 why would you want a stranger to watch your children???? I paid her to do a job and watch my children. I had to find other means and that is acceptable. At least I wasn’t putting my spouse down like other people.

Read your employee code of conduct again and retake your employee ethics training again. It's clearly against the rules and if you did this you should be fired and have to pay it all back.

So what is wrong with paying your family members to watch your kids. Why shouldn’t they be paid for their time. So you’re saying that I should expect my family members to watch my kids for free like they don’t have a life??? I use my sister but she had to drive far to watch my kids. So the $100 a day was barley fair for her.

Who couldn't see this coming? Surprised it took VZ this long. I'm surprised these people weren't terminated as well.

Yes, the should be fired for scamming the company... my best guess these are union workers doing this as they think they are owed everything under the sun.
