When people are eventually back in the office, and they lay a bunch of people off, will people lose their minds and start fighting each other? Jackets pulled over the head, etc.?
Or will everyone join hands and sing kumbaya, possibly sharing a joint?
Either way, I'm glad I telecommute.

I am not in a hub city, but good news is i just landed a new role with about 20% pay increase! Group here is toxic and trying save themselves push out newer workers and enjoy causing problems to ensure they have job security.
Very unfortunate situation but guess its expected with all the underhanded things the customers went through, so cant take it personal since its on all fronts.
no need to fight in the parking lots, they already are inside the place!

Hey OP, I am glad you telecommute too; 1) you will most likely be on the cut list and 2) no one had to endure being in an office with a ray of sunshine like you.

I can only pray you're wrong. We will lose a lot of talented people and managers in tech if so. Not everyone can move, even if they wanted to due to their spouses career. Smart companies focus on getting the best talent they can afford and allow them flexibility. That's how you get good people and retain them.
