How does WARN work?

I am in Technology. There are about 20 people on my team. Some work in Charlotte, some in Minnesota, a handful in India, one in Phoenix, another in Des Moines, and the rest are scattered across the US. About half of us are full time telecommuters, and since COVID all of us have been telecommuters.

So how do WARN notices work for scattered groups like ours? Or does WARN not apply to us?

For example, if a WARN notice says that a large number of people in Minnesota are getting laid off, does that mean that people in Iowa would be safe?

If you WFH, you are still assigned an office location where mail is sent and then forwarded on to your home address. That's the site where you are employed. Because of the need for mail processing facilities, that will almost always be a major hub. Look up your location in your profile section if you don't know.

Full-time telecommuters no where near a hub city are likely toast.

It isn't an individual thing. Wells probably has an ongoing WARN notice in place due to chainsaws plan.

The warn notice is 60 days. Your notice is 60 days. The warn notice dowsn’t tell you anything about what will happen...

Nope! Just be thankful they are still giving 60 days regardless of WARN or not.

no... Warn is just for the state it is in... the state where occurs... for small groups below a certain amount WARN does not apply
