Onesies twosie type layoffs in CSBB today
Marketing seems to be skating by unaffected as usual. Most marketing people are sure they’re bulletproof, even managers with fewer than seven reports, which is most of them. Maybe they’re right. Sure seems that way.

I see that some people feel the need to mock because they don’t get an urgent telegram with the exact number of people who lost their job today or any other day.

One IT manager let go who had eight directs. His peers all have more than seven directs, and his manager has more than seven. From first glance doesn’t seem to be spans and layers directly, unless more shuffling is coming up. He was around 20 years.

I'm in IT, no word, no meetings.
IT is a big team, though, and I don't expect anyone on my team to be let go right now, we have too much busy work on our plates.
These "big" date announcements seem to imply large layoffs so you can view it the way you want. @wns you seriously the plan is 2k/day?

If we care cutting 70k over 3 years that works out to just about 2k a month.
2k could go away today and no one outside of the groups affected would be none the wiser.

More than dribs and drabs, I know of dozens let go today with immediate effect. Some are getting 15 days working notice and 45 day none working others are 60 days none working.
I wouldn't say it would have happened anyway. Tech layoffs are unusual in any quantity, usually they just draw down on the contractor pool.

No. The day will end with no layoffs, or just the usual dribs and drabs that likely would have happened anyway.
