DMI Leadership changes

so what's the story with JO suddenly "leaving" to pursue other opportunities after 20+ years??? Did someone finally do something about her loud mouth and brow beating management style?

It is not for us to judge. Karma is always the answer.

HR partner didn’t leave the company id–t. She stayed with Enterprise Finance.

I worked on a project with her 4 years ago. Pretty sure the same deck and status could be used today. She was awful but sadly there are more overpaid JO types in bloated do nothing DMI. Data Lake, Data Lake 2.0, Dead Sea, Data River APPs to nowhere. So many choices....

People that couldn’t cut it at boa came here and brought their equally worthless boa friends. That’s what made DMI fail from the get go.

DMI for some reason hired a lot of bank of american left overs and those people brought their bad habits here.

And there are many places to cut. I "partner" with DMI on a project which is riddled with layers. There is the project owner (one of JO's directs who is just as abrasive as JO) who then has two of their own people acting as "project managers" for the project even though the project has an official project manager from the EPMO office.

And what do these people do? they follow up with EIT to ensure EIT is doing what it needs to do.

Are they not important for REG Reporting?

I'm pretty confident who you're referring to. That person has survived a while (including some major screw ups before moving to DMI). And yeah, that person can be rather abrasive.

DMI is really big and I doubt they have delivered much at all. In many cases people they put in charge have little clue about actually getting things done and try to tell tech how to do it. There are a bunch of things that have been discussed ad nauseam for a few years with little or no progress.

That said, there are a bunch of really good people over there too and they're frustrated with the people who have no business in a DM group.

They're due for a Britney Spears freaking out sort of hair cut.

I think you are partially right. DMI is surely bloated and will get some kind of haircut. I have no idea how much hair will be taken though. Everyone is getting rid of contractors by the dozens so that's not a tale tell sign of the full demise.

Now some form of Data Management has to exist. Does it include all of the pillars that are there now? Doubtful. Data governance and data strategy is critical for any org these days.

We will see.

Even their long term HR business partner saw the hand writing on the wall and left the company.

DMI is a sinking ship. It only has about 6 more months before layoffs begin. Jackie O. saw the writing on the wall and left for a better position. DMI was only created due to the consent orders from the Feds. It was only funded for 3 years., and that time is about up. DMI is getting rid of its contractors by the dozens without renewal. The re-orgs and change in leadership are a tell-tale sign. If you are in DMI, start looking. Getting rid of DMI is at the top of Chainsaw's agenda.

Don't know who she is but since you said her loud mouth, I'm glad I don't know who she is and probably someone got fed up.
