Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Department is asking for a detailed list of equipment at home. Lay-off coming soon?

I work in 1st mortgage. We received an email this morning asking for detailed equipment inventory that we have at home. Maybe I’m paranoid but it seems like they may be locking down what everyone has for when they kick us all to the curb. Am I reading into this too much?

Everyone in mortgage i know got the same email. Permanent WFH coming for all mortgage fulfillment (who want it) so I assume this is why they are asking, many will not be returning to office.

Relax, pardnuh.
It is simply a check that you are Ergonomically protected at your home station.
If some equipment is missing for that purpose - they'll ship it to you.
It is about you. And your well-being.

They had us do this a month ago - no layoffs. I think they are trying to see what equipment is outside of the offices

"Just because it was issued doesn't mean it's at home. Just because it's attached at home doesn't mean it's theirs either. (my own mouse, monitor, external keyboard, cables, etc.)"

The bank wouldn't send you non-WF approved devices. The argument stands.

Is you regular office location changing? Some members of my team had similar requests this week and were told it was because their office location is shutting down and they are being moved to a different location across town. You could reply to whoever sent you the email asking why they need the info?

I think they sometimes lose track of peripherals (printers, monitors, etc.). An audit requires there to be some accounting.

We had to do the same thing a few years ago. No one got laid off in our department.

Kind of weird asking that since they technically have a SOR of what you should have been sent/received. Also since they could easily use WMI to query your hardware and attached devices.

Could be read either way.

If you're lucky, you're being laid off, which means you get to go work someplace less horrible.
