A coworker has been sending IMs to my Manager criticizing my team’s work. Nothing wrong with the open door policy and the opportunity to provide input but I am finding out the stories are made up and based on fabricated facts. Our teams do redundant work and there is no need for two teams testing the same internal controls. I suspect that this coworker is acting this way out of survivalist instincts, given that his group has been recently downsized by almost 80% and the nature of the work is redundant. I have documentation and evidence collected that disproves his lies and I am looking for advice on how best to confront the situation. He insists on a narrative that is flat false and I’ve told my manager so. The fake narrative covers up the fact that his coworker is behind on a project he has accountability for and has not yet delivered.
The question here is for those long timers that have experience in dealing with this aspect of Wells Fargo culture, what advice do you have? Should I preemptively file an ER complain just in case, knowing that they won’t do anything.
Thanks for the feedback. I know this is a forum about layoffs but it’s been hard to find a safe spot to discuss this inside the organization.
