Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It is exceptionally quiet today

Anyone else noticing that is so quiet today? Could hear a pin drop. Must be the calm before the storm.

PTO time of year, lots of people accrued time not knowing what was happening with COVID and layoffs, and I suspect a lot of people just don't want to rock the boat right now.

Usually crazy busy this time of year for my team, February/March is our not as busy time of year.

Yesterday and today is very very quiet, I came to check here if something has happened and I didn't know about. It's eerily silent, no system broken, process is working as expected and no one is looking for an answer... hmmm

The weekend coming up is a long one, and as someone else noted many employees have a lot of PTO to burn. So maybe people taking time off while the weather is pretty.

So true... I'm in an international location and it's been really quiet here as well in the last 2-3 weeks. I can't put my finger on why, but I definitely have at least half the number of meetings I did before.

In the eye of the hurricane there is quiet...
For just a moment...
A yellow sky...

Wait for it.

Marketing group slammed as usual. Most is manager-created busywork to make us look productive and them look important, but we’re not sitting around.

My guess is it’s just people trying to get their PTO in this year while the weather is still good. I’m seeing a lot of people taking time off lately.

I haven't seen any impact on workload. As a front office person the pace is pretty steady. Sure there's the fear of layoffs but it's background noise. You're still getting paid and if the jobs not getting done by you they'll get someone else who will.

It’s weird, but you can almost feel the productivity dropping before the cuts.

I thought it was just me. Seeing the same thing zcw has, and since our workload is partly reliant on the upstream workload, I’m wondering when the EOY push is hitting. It should have started by now.

Last couple of weeks has been quiet. Normally, everyone comes back after labor day and it's all hands on deck untill the end of year freeze. Not so much this year.
