Does anyone know how that would work?

@hho no that is not correct - you are not allowed to wait until they get back. Manager is required to attempt to contact empl on PTO if it is notification day, and leave message requesting callback if they don't reach them immediately.
They wait until you come back. The manager should know if somebody they're planning on laying is scheduled to be on PTO. clearly if they try to schedule something tell the person to cancel their PTO, it'll kind of be obvious what's going on.
Only this cesspool of low live, classless scum would call someone on their day off to tel them they are laid off. No class, no morals, no decency or respect.
@kgh has it right. I also have been through this as a manager. Sometimes you are permitted to notify a day early if the person will be available, but most of the time you are not allowed to do that and you are required to try to reach the person on PTO and ask them to call you back.
Do not pass GO do not collect $200
If you're on PTO, they wait until you start beating off, and then they either call or show up at your front door.
(This post isn't really my fault. My medication sometimes makes me say things.)
Happened to my friend last week. They called him on pto and told him and his package was waiting for him at home when he got back.
Know a few who left for military reserve work. USERRA is there friend
They immediately give one firecoupon for your excellent critical thinking and agile mindset. And then you can fire one person if your choice .
I’ve been through this as a manager. We have to provide a list of team members on PTO that day to the HRBP we’re working with. Then we would call them on their day off and deliver the news using the script we’re given.
He did it! He cracked the code!!!
I imagine they would have the conversation talk with you when you come back in.
I imagine that you would be notified as soon as you return from PTO. I doubt that being on PTO changes anything about being displaced. You would have a meeting with your manager first thing on the day you return.
You get a raise and a company car...
You get lucky and they move to the next one on the list.
You get to stay...
Maybe try not being a jerk to the troll saying someone is dumb for a genuine question. Clearly you are bitter with life.
wow seriously, please give us your name so we can let you go for being dumb.
