the 16 character PW hasn't not been rolled out across the board. I was actually hoping mine would allow for it as I'm sick of having to change them so often but mine was still asking for the standard. Guess it will be into mid next year before it's widely rolled out.

Just changed my passwords today. They did not required 16 digits
I posted a perfectly valid joke password and they removed it?

I would wait. It may not be necessary.
Change it now and you can hold onto 8 characters longer than others.
