I’m hearing rumblings in Risk that several functions are going to be consolidated and centralized and it will happen before the end of the year. Does anyone have any details on what groups will be impacted?

@3ayf, what group are you under?
TTIRO = Technology, Third Party and Information Risk Oversight
Yes, was easy to look up but I’ve been with Wells for 13 years total and had never heard of it.
They could save millions getting rid of the GIM Team. Completely useless bureaucrats.
100%. TTIRO are useless.
We could lose them all completely and the bank's productivity will go up.
Then you have access to the search function on Teamworks.
I’ve been at wells for 15 years. Never heard of ttiro before
TTIRO is the 2lod team for tech, 3p, IS risks (hence the name) but just like everything else things change (as do names) and that also included until recently biz resilience and info risk. As alluded, some of these teams were recently announced to move out of TTIRO and the name will likely change. It has been around under a different name since 2015.

It's the name of the dog in the Wizard of Oz.
If you worked here, you would know.
What is ttiro?

@1lid - I tend to agree that SS is a leader that fares higher than the typical WF average "leader". HOWEVER, the day to day interaction with TTIRO is a complete disaster and feels like one is entering an alternative universe. It is a circus full of incomplete guidance, useless tollgates, deflected accountability, bold promises that are never delivered, and the worst part, "revisionist history" when TTIRO attempts to re-write history to fit the narrative and cover their mistakes. If you are not seeing this you are either (1) part of TTIRO or (2) have never worked with that organization have been insulated from this.
TTIRO won't be "dissolved" but the core services will be better suited in ORM to help that dysfunction right the ship. SS is an amazing leader who will have good things in store, I am sure.
All you have to do is change your teamworks setting to view the control team and you’ll see an August update from Nate Hermanator and you can listen to the call. In the call he says thousands are moving to the business. These are roles that were more risk program focused. So it’s all out there just to look. He did say it would happen in mid September but largely did not happen yet.
I’m in TTIRO (Risk) and my group has in essence been dissolved after 80% of the headcount moved to other portions of Operational Risk under a new “leader”. I’m part of the 20% that did not move and it’s pretty clear the future does not look great. It was very dysfunctional before this change now it’s getting worse.
Yes, same thing I mentioned, welcome to the (dysfunctional) world of Kuo.
I am in risk and some of us were told about a month ago we were being moved to operations teams in the business and told who we will report to effective mid October. No additional info since from old or new management. Doesn’t seem good....

Last month, I found when I tried to expense them in Concur, several certs and a couple classes, over $5,000.00 worth of certs and classes I had previously been told they would be approved, I paid using my own credit card and the same manager who approved them denied them saying "life's a byatch, things changed"
When did they announce they won’t pay for certifications?? My manager has been giving me the runaround about it.

yes i have heard and seen the same in meeting so it is happening.. atm there are 3 sides of risk form corporate to enterprise etc.. which are going to fall under one umbrella now.. even ET is all getting moved together.. lots pruning happening at the same time
Yeah if you look at the Corp risk portal and recent news there’s all kinds of updates from Mandy and control exec’s realigning teams. A bunch of moves just happened into operational risk from tech risk and business oversight teams- probably around 200 people reorganized who I assume will end up fighting for their jobs like office space
A huge number of us in Risk were just moved out of risk into the business, all reporting up to George Kuo, now in what he laughingly calls a center of excellence. The smart people realize that the hundreds if not thousands that got moved out of risk into the business were done so that Chainsaw could say to the regulators with a straight face he has not laid off any risk people, while laying us all of now that we're in the business side. This on top of the new mandate that Wells Fargo will no longer pay for any certifications, memberships (CISA, CRISC, ISACA, IIA etc) clearly show what little value this firm has in professional certifications etc.
I know absolutely nothing about a risk reorg one way or the other. But wouldn't risk centralization contradict all the DE-centralization Charlie and company have implemented, and plan to implement?
Spans and layers in compliance and business risk and control are coming in mid October. Not sure which exact risk groups are impacted.
