How has been your experience at Wells after giving your two weeks notice? Are managers understanding of you seeking a new opportunity due to the upcoming layoffs? Do they honor your two weeks or ask you to not to come into the office because you will be working with a "competitor"? Thanks.

Early in my career I worked for a company that was circling the drain like WF is today, and people started jumping ship. When they resigned and gave two-weeks notice they were asked to leave immediately, but of course were paid for those two weeks. The company sent out a memo telling people not to give notice, just to resign effective immediately since they were going to be asked to leave anyway. The next day a buddy resigned and in his letter he gave them three weeks notice. The sent him home and paid him for three weeks. You can't tell people how to quit!
Put in my two weeks notice last Friday. I work in tech. Everyone understood and was happy for me. I will be finishing my two weeks and then starting my new job..
I tend not to burn any bridges - be professional and give then 2 weeks notice.
If something better comes along, jump ship and Don't feel obliged to give a 2 week notice. There's no loyalty here. Other companies know what WF is going through and won't judge.
I was in Middle Market Banking and moved to a competitor. I was asked to turn in all corporate property, which was checked off a list. Then I was escorted out. Overall, not too nasty or unexpected. Just make sure to be ready to leave as soon as you provide notice.
It depends on your boss. Mine was pretty cool when I put in my notice. Some will terminate you immediately
When I gave my 2 weeks my manager was upset... I finished out my 2 weeks and never looked back... did not tell them where I went...
We work at a company with 1/4 million employees. I'm sure some people are shown the door right away, some aren't. A lot probably depends on your role. Do you have a good relationship with your manager? Do you work with sensitive customer or company information? Do you work on projects where a handoff is required?
As a general rule, we tend to overthink giving notice and assume it will be a bigger deal than it turns out to be. We are all replaceable, and people quit every day.
The worst that could happen is you get told to leave that day. (Or, is that the best thing?) That doesn't mean you won't get paid for two weeks. I am actually wondering if it'd be more work for a boss to try to deny you 2 weeks of pay after giving notice.

If you are asking this question, then you probably dont have a "chummy" relationship with your managers and if thats the case, dont tell them where you are going....EVER!, Keep it professional and say "im exploring a new opportunity"
For those who were not allowed to work during their 2 week notice, we're you still paid for the 2 weeks and allowed to keep your benefits?
Btw, you're under not obligated to tell them where you are going and they can't force you.
Seriously? Every manager is different, but any good manager is supportive and a great manager expects their employees to move on to bigger/better things or they feel like they failed.
They were petty to me. Told me to leave immediately. I literally just closed my laptop and that was it.
