Phone was wiped yesterday. Locked out of my PC today. Helpdesk told me to call my manager. What a terrible heartless way to do this. Not at all surprised though. Terrible leadership and old boys club mentality. Spineless to say the least.

Yeah if you’re wfh, doubt they would do a 60?day working- too much insider threat risk to the company.
Call and report for sure but don’t expect anything for it. Things like this do in fact happen without malicious intent. I have seen it and all it takes is a fat fingering of a schedule or a mis-communication with bad timing. Tasks like this generally get assigned to one admin and all it takes is the human element of misreading or not paying attention to the requested timing and things happen too early. I’ve seen FedEx packages arrive before an employee was notified and hundreds of accounts disabled a day early.
TRUTH time. I was impacted. I lost my job on 11/17. I knew the cuts were coming. My manager called me that morning. The no-working period thing was a shocker, but I did have access til end of day to wrap up work and send out a goodbye email. Standard severance applies after the notice period, two weeks for every year of service up to 1 full year total.
Anyone who just lost access and was never told needs to call HR and report their now-former manager. That's not how it's done. Ever.
I heard somebody had the same thing happened to them – locked out and phone cut off before getting told they're being let go.
Somebody in this thread mentioned 60 day working. It is 60 day NON-WORKING. If you're let go, you're basically out. that's probably for security reasons. And since few are working in the office, that aspect is covered regardless.
During the last round of layoffs I couldn't log in one morning.
I called tech support and they fixed it.
Sometimes it's just a weird coincedence.
That’s exactly how it happened. Not fake news, just a fake management team that screwed even this up.
For the record, that's not how displacements are working. There's no wave today. If you're truly being displaced and your account is disabled, then your manager whiffed on notifying you yesterday.
Troll. Not how it’s done here.
This has been debunked. This has been disputed.
Fake news
This is my first ever post here. That wasn't me earlier. I spoke with my manager yesterday just like every other day. Spoke with him today too. All he did was chuckle.
Wow!!! Are you saying that no one reached out to you yesterday and let you know that these things will happen?
Truly unbelievable. Good luck.
are you the one who posted the other day that said if they saw an urgent meeting request they would report it as spam?
You were probably supposed to go yesterday.
Geez, I’m sorry you’re going through this.
Very spineless. Have the cajones to tell someone to their face...so to speak.
