This is true. Several QA managers were laid off yesterday as the resources under them were moved under engineering managers. Not clear on whether there is any redeployment period. There is going to be a technology college rolled out in December where employees will have an opportunity to learn software engineering. I hope the people laid off have the opportunity to learn and apply for other jobs internally.
For those who keep on saying that Layoffs are fake news they are either Trolls or HR. Layoffs are happening. 11/17 was real. My direct EIT Tech manager was laid today. Sad but true.

Understand why folks want details but... way to make it all about YOU. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, thoughts and prayers blah blah blah. Now share the facts that matter most to me, you troll!"
Maybe those who post they were just laid off are a little rattled? Or they are afraid of their manager putting 2+2 together, and knowing they posted details?
Regardless, calling people names is a way to make them clam up. NOT share more.
There is no reason to feel shame for being layed off from any job, let alone this one, and especially not in 2020.
And other than a few trolls, we do have sympathy for people right now.
We just want some clue from the OP as to where or what department, or what how the notice works, something, to separate them from fake posts.
Maybe people are ashamed and don't want to be recognized by anyone. It is funny how people want so many details about ones life but when they lose their jobs they won't even have the bls to post it anonymously. They will continue living a lie for weeks crying themselves asleep. Grow up man, if someone posts that they were laid-off have more empathy.
