Are you kidding.....every day it's like watching our politicians in Washington. Leadership lies straight to your face and doesn't skip a beat.

So to answer the question, it s—s working at Wells Fargo. But in the end I can leave when I've had enough.....I'm close. The questions remains as an employee of greater than 25 years in good standing, will I be laid off before I quit.

I hate this place. Been here in ICS only a couple of years.. In my first month I knew coming here was a huge mistake. Too many lifers in my org who have a huge attitude problem and are not open to anything new. They spend all their time advertising/marketing themselves and if you do not kiss their butt, you are toast.

If ICS is indicative of the rest of the bank it's no wonder this place is sinking.

Use to. Been onboard since 14 it seems things were more personable we did more around holidays and such but that ground down even before the pandemic and the last couple of years the bureaucracy has gotten much worse. I'm in WIMT, part of brokerage technology, and the work is much more tedious and pointless we do less technologically now then we did 3 years ago. I spend most my time trying to make other people do their job. Counting down the months.

12 years, I do like Wells but have my complaints. Work with lots of good/smart people but there are always bad apples. Best way to get a pay raise is to leave and come back. Seems counterintuitive. Always gotten 4's on my reviews (except those 1 or 2 odd years where they changed the review process) but never gotten more than 2% yearly raise. Usually it's 1.5% or lower. That's lower than inflation so I'm actually losing money the longer I stay.

Love my coworkers, most peer teams we partner with are great.

Upper management has me worried that it's salvageable.

The company began imploding the day after merging with the cancer that was Wachovia. The leadership from Wachovia was infused into WFB and elevated, and the rest is caustic history.

Todays Wells is a horrific place to work. Employees are treated very poorly, there is no sense of community or work family.

That being said, if you're hear, there is only one path...and that is in front of us. For better or for worse.....here we go.....

While it hasn't been the easiest of companies to work for in recent memory I actually enjoy working for WF. I have a decent salary and good work life balance most of the time. I learned a long time ago that no one was going to hand me anything so I worked hard and when I saw good opportunities for advancement I took them. I feel I have been very lucky in that the majority of my managers over the years have been great and I keep in touch with many, and when things weren't great I didn't sit around complaining to people I took action and changed roles. It's also worth noting that the grass isn't always greener. I know life isn't easy for many Team members (employees) and there will be a lot of change and a lot of layoffs in the coming years, but until a pink slip lands in my inbox I'll continue logging in each morning, doing my job, and collecting a paycheck every other Friday.

36 mill is not his annual compensation. That figure includes one time stock options to compensate for shares he had to forfeit from bnym. Annual comp is closer to 23 mill.

Sure, the future of Wells Fargo is in the hands of the only guy in the country who would take the job. I think it’s cool that he was, like, confident enough to insist on being paid double the other CEOs. He deserves all that money for cutting all the losers. My mom says I’m a winner, so I don’t have to worry about getting cut. And anyone who was dumb enough to work at any job more than a couple years-they deserve to go for sure. A job is a job. I have a degree in Fitness Training, so it’s not my fault your dad didn’t pay for y’all to go to college.

Sure we have a CEO who can’t give any insight regarding progress on cost cutting and the asset cap. I mean, ya know, just because he is making $36,000,000 doesn’t mean he has to spill the beans. Give the poor guy some time. And I like that he is hiring all his besties, because it means he takes good care of his own. He likes people just like him, and thinks everyone else is beneath him. He said he would be transparent, what more proof do you complainers need?

Some people want to work for honest companies but what’s the big deal? I’m tired of people whining about what happened before I started here. Get over it. Y’all are just angry. If employees blew the whistle on illegal practices and got fired, that’s their fault. Not my problem. Be grateful you got a 2% raise. As long as I’m collecting my paycheck, like, I don’t care who’s getting ripped off. Some people are so dumb 🙄. Everyone is cheating and lying and doing fraud and stuff - it’s totally okay now. The old people need to realize the world has changed. Integrity and kindness just mean you’re weak.

I work in middle market banking and I can say I love it. I started here in the analyst program, went to credit training in SF, and worked in credit and banker roles. I have been here for 16 years, make a good salary, good bonus, deferred comp, and my manager and team is generally good to work with. No complaints.

Unfortunately, the noise from the retail bank and the public has made its way into our LOB and that has poisoned the great culture we have in our LOB. Of course our LOB has had much noise recently with the addition of legacy BBG folks, many of whom have already been let go.

I enjoy my pay, I enjoy my team, i enjoy my extended team up thru my Senior Manager. I have a good level of responsibility for my extended team, which i enjoy. I do not like some of the corporate bs that we have to endure - but that would be true of most large corporations. It wouldn’t matter what company name is there, those are all i care about.

Not really a fan at this point. I have stayed because I make great money. Clients like me and I like them. WF gets their cut as do I, it works out like a marriage of convenience.

Many like me actually love our firm and team. Sure there are things we would like to see improved. Sure there are some poor leaders. Sure they BS through the hiring process many times. Tell me a company that doesn't have some of these problems. There are a majority of really good people with passion and talent here at Wells. There's opportunity too but you can't expect everything handed to you.

I wish HR would stop spamming this site with insipid topics like the OP here, and we could limit the posts to actual discussions about layoffs.

Hey OP, try Glassdoor, that's what they do, and if you are HR, get better at your job.
