Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Charlie is pushing for all employees to return from working at home

Had a team meeting recently and our boss informed us that Charlie's Operations team is pushing to remove work-from-home as soon as possible and beginning to micro manage more than previously

It will probably be BYOM (bring your own mask).

For the id–t who thinks WFH is an extended vacation, your job must be special because most of us are 35% more productive according to the higher ups.

@2bim+17NY7pKF I'm not sure what you're trying to prove. The conversation is not about distribution of teams, it is about how people can return to the office if the office areas can only be 30 - 50% capacity. You are having a hard time staying focused on the point of the conversation. Instead of trying to dumb something down, try basic reading comprehension.

When we go back will people who make over $75k have to pay for hand sanitizer and masks for the whole office?

Sadly the layoffs will have to happen before anyone will make a plan to return to an office. Easier to force people back if there are 25% less bodies to accommodate social distancing requirements.

this probably will lead to law suits and employment law violations; now the Dem's won both presidency and house so things will change next year

probably getting rid of employees any way he can and the cheapest way; this virus has been a blessing for those employees who choose to stay in this situation; when the business goes bad financially, it will be a very toxic and nasty place

Maybe he’s desperate for some strange at Hudson Yards, so he wants more people on site?

Schart and his OC minions are such unbelievable jerks. He wants to mess with every good benefit this company had to get people to quit so he doesn’t have to pay a severance.

Charlie can say whatever he wants, the virus is driving the bus, and it's going to be a long winter.

too bad the post mentioned by NVN was about London (UK) and people that had contracts.. we do not. Of course we can still try to "rise up" and fight but doubt we'll get enough people to speak up or threaten legal action. Think the best piece of that article was actually about disability (mental, physical; potential discrimination (working parents )that could be disparately impacted by the move to remove WFH. However, they've already quietly done away with WFH for new hires and there was no uproar. Thing is this also applies to internal applicants posting for internal new positions, if you're remote you're not even considered for the opening. At least a few people have shared this in various posts and it's just not a wide-spread knowledge. Wonder if someone will post this in the team moments remote worker forum??

@nrx+17NY7pKF your post is gibberish and makes zero sense. The issue brought up was that WF. said the office space would only reach 30 - 50% capacity. It was explained how that could still be true if CS planned on bringing every one back into the office. @njn addressed how that would happen. You may not like it, but that's how it will happen.

@njn
The problem with your solution sounds somewhat reasonable until you at how teams are already distributed, which in fact, lowers risk to anyone and everyone remotely connected to the bank. Employee, the business, the economy, our customers all benefit from geographically dispersed teams.

He knows getting people to come back to the office after 200k have proven they can work remotely will speed up attrition.
I think a lot of people have made up their mind that they aren't going back to a WF office.

BNY Mellon employees threatened legal action when he tried to curtail working from home and he backed down. Now he's trying it again here, during a pandemic! Any leader who is wasting time on the HUB strategy or trying to force team members back in to the office during a pandemic is a drain on the company!

He hates having people working from home. New York Mellon Bank employees can attest to that.

Many of the employees have enjoyed an extended vacation. They should continue to be paid by Wells. So much for the Wells Fargo shareholders.

So what about those employees who were hired for remote roles and had already been WFH years before the Wuhan/China virus pandemic?

@xyn+17NY7pKF They can do it if they do work share. For example, Team A works in the office Monday and Tuesday Week 1, Wednesday and Thursday week2, and Fridays week 3. Team B works Wednesday and Thursday week 1, Friday week 2, Monday and Tuesday week 3. Team C works Friday week 1, Monday and Tuesday week 2, and Wednesday and Thursday week 3. They keep the capacity at 30 - 50%, while getting everyone back into the office.

IF all employees go back. Wells will have to keep wfh if they want to attract and retain high performing talent.

This is a lie, even the covid info page says buildings will be 30-50% of capacity so it will be awhile before all employees are back.
