Bonus Payout for laid off employees

It's sad that I have to use this platform to get information. I was laid off and will continue to get paid until 12/30/20, afterwards salary continuation kicks in (severance pay). My manager could not answer directly if I would receiving a bonus for 2020 and yes, I am aware that bonuses are not guaranteed. Sadly, he was reading from a checklist on what to say to me, as surprised and shocked as. Does ANYONE have any know? Discussions, decisions and approvals should had already taken place. Much appreciated.

I'd be surprised if we get a bonus, and they wouldn't announce that in advance, it would cause people they still need to leave too soon.

I do know that at other companies, even when they say "no bonus this year", there's usually a pool of funds for top performers.

Not sure if that would be the case here.

Yes, displaced employees are eligible for bonus payout with the “time worked” counting until their severance kicks in (so since you’re getting paid until 12/30, technically you will qualify for the full year’s bonus. Displaced employees do NOT have to be employed as if the date of payout because the process is different for those that are displaced, retired, or deceased. The decision for funding level on the bonus doesn’t happen until 11/16 (the day before CP&D opens for merit/bonus entry). Then there are calibration sessions that have to occur. Bonuses and merit should be set in stone in mid-December with payout occurring on February 7th.

you should be eligible as long as you're still employed as of the payment date; however I wouldn't be shocked if it's far less than the normal

this place they are trying to get people to quit at any costs; one person was so upset i helped them get assistance from the bullying. Really i guess at any cost to save $10.00 here is the approach rather than pay unemployment

I was let go last year and I got my bonus this year. I was surprised because I thought my manager would use these dollars to take care of others. One thing I insisted on is getting a copy of Wholesale’s incentive program. My manager has to go to HR. But having it clearly spelled out what the bank had to do. Make sure to get a copy before you leave

Yes, you are still eligible for the months worked including the 60 day notice period. It will be prorated once you are on Salary continuation. Managers were on a call today and it was discussed bonuses are still to be calculated for those displaced on a prorated basis. If you quit before salary continuation pay starts you are not eligible.

Mgr here. Compensation guidance was released and the deck indicates that displaced employees are eligible for incentive awards. However, doesnt mean your leaders will give it to you.

In the past, you would've still gotten your bonus, but I don't know if that's still the case.

Depends on your manager and what he or she will be willing to do for you.

Bonus eligibility is cancelled upon initiation of salary continuation. Sorry.
