Several people I have talked to seem to be clueless to the fact there are spans and layers or talk of 25% being laid off. What is going on there? I don’t understand how no one I’ve talked to has any idea. Even the local news has touched on some layoffs where I am.
Do they plan on keeping this campus? I know we own that one.
@1pfq+17Jfuxdd if you haven’t seen San Antonio on any presentation it’s due to you not paying attention. And there are more large locations other than the Wiseman campus. SA is a MAINTAIN hub. So there will be no exodus nor growth there but positions will be back filled within the scope of the overall org desired size of that site. Dallas/Ft Worth however is a designated GROWTH hub. As others have pointed out HUBS are based on Tower or LOB so the hubs for Lending won’t necessarily match up to hubs for IT.
Have never seen San Antonio mentioned or on any presentation of being a Hub. This is a waste of real property owned versus leasing as in other Hub location, beautiful campus that will probably be sold to the community college next door.
The hubs are different depending on your lob; so we can’t answer your question without more info.
But I will say it’s not one I have seen as a intended location; similar to salt lake, Portland; Denver etc..

Who cares which hubs theyre keeping? What does it matter? Dont you see the general direction of the new management? They are on a mission to reduce expenses and they are bringing in external hires for all the best opportunities. Do you really think any of Schart’s cronies has any idea how to turn around a company?

Your helpfulness and lack of judgement is truly heartwarming.
Lack of communication from Management. My friends, who are busy working parents with kids in sports etc, only sporadically read or watch the news. I have learned everything from the news and this board, nothing from work. In my LOB, they don’t talk about it at all. It doesn’t ever come up in meetings with management. They are all just carrying on like everything is great, no one knows anything.
A few years ago when real estate was going around talking about their plans to reduce real estate and only have hubs, San Antonio was on the list as a hub city. Not sure if it is still the plan.

Have you not paid any attention to location strategy? I know it was put on hold due to covid but I’m pretty sure SA is not a go forward hub.

In 2008 it was the sam thing. People thinking it couldn’t be them and then the day of reckoning comes. People have a way of overvaluing their skill sets and importance to the company. But when the axe falls, it will be a day they remember
