Steve Stone All Hands Call

During Steve Stone’s all hands call today he said if you are a hard worker, busy, and performing well, (top performer) you don’t have to worry about being laid off. C’mon man!

In some cases, you are "setup" so your displacement can be explained away. You receive a lower performance rating and that justifies your layoff. Even if you have never received a low rating in the many years working for WF. Coincidence? I think not.

I know of several people I worked with directly (IT) that are no longer here.

They were top performers.

You'd be surprised how random it can be and you'd be surprised how little your direct manager may have over your future.

Stay safe and good luck.

False. I was all of them, even received a recent employee of the year award in our area, and I was shown the door. This was during the Wachovia layoff.
We all are simple numbers on a sheet. I know its hard to swallow but the faster you do, the faster you can move forward.

Watch what they do, not what they say.

Ask him if you can have that in writing. Sounds like they want to keep you in your chair and working hard until you get the boot.

"Performing well" does NOT mean "Top Performer."
