Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Developer Issues Here

I am finding there are a lot of environment generated problems for myself as a Top Software Engineer here. There is one guy here that all he talks about is paperwork and other things that have no real impact. He likes to schedule random meetings for you with no real agendas just to waste your time. Then he throws a pity party for himself and causes a bunch of worry and anxiety for everyone.
I am not sure how to get this issue resolved as i thought the process people were supposed to be streamlined and become agile. Seems they are just getting worse than ever. Maybe when execs said they were going to simplify the processes to make more agile they got angry now all of us developers havve to pay the price here.

Sad really, true agile is microsecond matrix management, zoom phone call discussions. Implement the code changes now, in testing watch it explode on the pad, fix...then it's production ready. Zoom

My problem with how they are implementing Agile is that they aren't really removing any of the stupid paperwork and processes that get in the way. We still have to extract "design" docs after sprints. There are a ton of stupid security processes that they can't automate and we still have this monolithic CR process where a bunch of people who don't know anything about my applications, telling us when we can deploy. All they have done is taken the existing processes/paperwork and put them into sprints vs a giant waterfall schedule. When this process started, I was curious if we would have more work or less to do... It is obvious at this point, we have more work on our plates b/c of Agile. It could be much better....

I’m a developer too and I’ll quit too and go to an American company .

They can keep all those fake workers who are Annoying and add no value

They're rolling out agile like all their other great initiatives from high level: half baked. They then expect the people on the lowest level to somehow figure it out and make it work.

We got a guy like that too. It’s the strangest thing. His technical chops aren’t great to begin with, and he’s slow on the uptake, then he tries to take a leadership role in these process related initiatives. Think organizing documentation/training initiatives or lunch/learn talks but never actually contributing. Just, you know, “leading”. Then getting overwhelmed and trying to dump it on somebody else. I think it’s all a ploy to look like he’s collaborating without actually producing anything.

I think this guy may work in our goup too; schedules meeting for no reason just to waste time.

Agile can be ok if implemented properly, but the location strategy is short-sighted idiocy at best. You don't have to be close to anyone physically to make it work.

It's not just devs paying the price for our c-ap agile implementation.
