Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Sad Day

when you have to come here for information because your leadership cannot embrace candor or the lack of morale running ramped. I am ok with the fact that I may lose my job but I am not ok with the constant wondering of when and how many. Charlie said he was optimistic, I would be too if I knew I would have a gig no matter what. I guess natural attrition is the only way for WF because it saves money. Not mad at what happening, more frustrated in the lack thereof of transparency and the hidden agenda of please leave the sinking ship, we really do not want to have to pay you to do so.

They will save money anyway. The benefits book was changed to reflect a lower payout if you were displaced. A person at 20 years in 2018 was to get 52 weeks severance but now for 2020 benefits, they've cut it to 40 weeks and capped a person over 26 weeks to only 52 weeks/12 months when prior was 16 months. Yet they are bringing these overpriced outsiders that they believe will change the direction of the company. Well, if the past is any indication of what the future holds, this company will not survive.

So now it's bad to wait for people to leave voluntarily so you don't have to do a layoff? Come on, guys. It's not "suppress their morale until they leave." It's more about people retiring or just moving on - which ALWAYS happens, and in predictable numbers - and not backfilling. The bottom line is that that helps a lot more of the rest of us keep our jobs.

Honestly, the company is very unprofessional and they seem to disregard all employment laws, more like a company in a third world country than a company in the US. They are looking for total control over people by using unethical tactics.

What company tells the media about layoffs first. This is a control tactic to instill fear in people around the comapny so they leave on their own. I will unload all my investments and move on to my next position. Its very clear they are going under and are wanting people to leave, by any means possible.

yep living like this is s—ing the life out of me, at the very least give us the amounts or dates of these layoffs. I mean they know it is coming, going into the holidays with this looming is really horrible.

Not knowing is the worst part. Just freaking tell me if I on the block or not, I can take it. Otherwise every move, unexpected meetings, and comment management makes is construed as an oh c-ap, what does that mean.

I don’t want to leave but I hate not knowing day to day if I get to stay.
