Speculation: the re-orgs allowed them to avoid being posted in the WARN Reports by changing the numbers of affected employees.
Several employees in my state were displaced in September, so I checked my state’s WARN list. WF wasn’t and still isn’t on the list.
I check the publicly posted
WARN notices for my state, and haven't seen anything for Wells Fargo yet. I live in a state with a hub location so it would stand to reason that Wells Fargo has triggered WARN, yet for some reason they're not included on the list.
I will never understand why people think that the WARN act is going to be an alarm automatically added to their iPhone or something. Not only is it very easy to game, especially in a large geographically decentralized company, it is nothing more than a quiet formalility.
Umm, the 60 day notice period serves that requirement. And then there's the tenure-based salary continuation. They meet these requirements very well.
