Many of the longer-term employees want a severance package and won’t get one. (I realize not all of us, am generalizing) We want out. Wells is going to play chicken trying to out-wait us, hoping we will leave on our own. For us, they would have to pay the full 12 month severance package.
The newer employees don’t want a package. They don’t know the history of rotten management, so they think they want to stay. Wells Fargo will have a higher motive to let you go first, because it will save them on severance packages.
That is exactly what they did in 2019.
Remember, it is universally thought Charlie is just concerned with the next couple years. He wants to cut costs on his watch. He has shown no interest in planning for a healthy company once he’s moved on.
I’m not saying this is the only factor. There are many other considerations. But mark my words:
You want a package, you’re not going to get one. You are newer and are hoping to stay? If you are going to have the smallest severance package on your team, just watch. ‘cause that is how Wells Fargo rolls.
