@1rgr: Your use of the word “stable” to describe Wells Fargo, who has said they are laying off 1 in 4 workers exposes your inability to get your head out of your bum.

I like WF, decent pay, good bonus, good 401k, stable, decent co-workers, ok work. this site likely brings the bottom 10% at the company who aren't doing well in their job and are likely to be let go. So it makes sense that they want to lash out. You owe it to yourself to find another job if your not happy because your making everyone else in your life miserable.
After five years with WF I moved to a role that I like. I’m not stressed out at work anymore. I don’t have to deal with my manager coaching with scare tactics. My team for the most part is pleasant and my manager doesn’t micro manage me. If anything the relationship is a “let me know if you need anything” kind of thing so it’s great.
But I wouldn’t mind working for a company where:
the past three CEOs weren’t dismal failures.
Or
constant bad press keeps coming out.
Or
The core values aligned with mine.
And the list could go on. Am I shopping around for something better,,, sure. I think you always should have the resume updated. But I’m not going to go unless the role is a great spot.
@1dts: Thank you for speaking for many of us. It helps to know we are not alone in thinking this place stinks lately. It is difficult to stay grounded in the swirl of insanity that is Wells Fargo.

Sort of, but not really, Wells took criming to a whole new level, with hundreds of thousands of victims, including our own employees.
I've worked at other companies, too, and yeah, there are issues, but nothing like here. And we all know that employees are being let go because of the poor and corrupt management.
If there were some perp walks we'd all feel a little better, but those guys took home millions and the bank paid billions in fines to avoid criminal charges.
You try bribing your way out of a crime sometime and report back.
I'm not a kid anymore and this is hands down the worst place I've ever worked.
Oh, yeah, and about "go somewhere else", maybe take a look outside.

Wells has been the worst working experience of my life. I never really had an appreciation for how mismanaged a group could be before joining Financial Crimes Investigations.
At this point I just want this misery to be over, and to be able to have the energy to look for an actual good job. I just want to be laid off and for the company to keep making enough money to pay out my severance, past that I wish literally the worst for them and want to see managers jumping out of windows.

Some of us who have given our hearts and souls to this place feel like we are the old loyal dog who is going to get taken out back to be shot. So it’s tough to listen to the the new pups who haven’t lived through all the mis-management and false promises. But that’s not your fault. So good look to you.
@ecox, I agreed with them. It was a good company. It was a great company. They're not facing layoffs now. It was the people there. I didn't want to leave but due to a bully retaliating manager, I was let go. It was a great opportunity but the managers were awful.
I came here and no it's not perfect and it's troubled but the people I work with are not condescending and hateful. I made friends here wheras there, they walked around with their laptops open like robots and didn't speak unless spoken to.
When I was let go, it was mixed. Relieved but angry that someone got away with bullying me out. I'm better here even if you all think so little of Wells.
@qnh: Well what do you think about those people at your previous employer who kept telling you how lucky you were to work there? That they didn’t know any better? Are you sad for them that they won’t try for an honest company with a CEO who shows he can lead the organization in to the future? You have, inadvertently, illustrated my point beautifully.

I worked at a well known company before here and everyone kept telling me how lucky I was to be there. It was a sh– hole. Bully managers lying on you. Condescending attitude. Same thing people complain about here. It's Corporate America. This place is not perfect but I want to be here. If you don't want to be here, no one is holding anchor on your ankle.

Charlie doesn't know you, so you've been having a shadow fight with yourself. I've worked at a lot of other places, this has been the best yet. If you want off the boat your free to jump off any any time, just remember there are a lot of sharks out there and the grass isn't always as green when and if you find land.

When the real job cuts and location closures hit the books it should get better. Should. We will see.
Charlie doesn’t give 2 hoots about any of the employees. Unless, possibly, you were brought on in the last year. Wouldn’t even be too boastful of a cheerleader then.
He gives zero feedback about the direction of the company. No one is staying here unless they, for some reason, think they don’t have any other choices. Or they want a package. Why stick around on a rudderless ship that is heading into rough seas?
We deserve to work for a CEO who cares about the future of the company.
The bank was super profitable before Covid, even with the asset cap. 2019 net income was $20billion.
