Has anyone else from Minnesota received an email from HR stating that Minnesota requires employers to provide certain employees with a written notification containing specific information regarding their employment status and terms of their employment. It then goes on to state that after Sept 25th, I will receive the acknowledgment.

Weren’t we supposed to get the form today? Typically those come in the overnight/early morning batches.
now if the form i get is different than what i saw online, I'll know something is up
I also looked it up, and you can even pull up a sample form. It looks like no big deal. But I agree with the person who said sh*tting in boots when first got the email.
You are assuming it is the theft law passed last summer, based on what, the first hit in a Google search? It could also be something else, like preparing for a mass lay-off. HR should clearly state what it is for and not use scary language during a lay-off. Has anyone asked HR? Anyone from a WARN notice state like CA have anything similar?
Why couldn't HR put that it's related to the wage theft law instead of leaving everyone in the dark. Managers weren't even told. It's sloppy work by HR.

I'm in MN and got the notice. However, it's nothing to worry about. It's about a law that was passed to help prevent employers from committing wage theft.
No big deal. Looked it up online. The information is on your original offer letter and/or in the employee handbook.
Waste of company resources and time with a company like Wells but it's meant for all Minnesota employees so I get it.
Small businesses many times don't make it so clear to their people. I keep thinking about the articles I've seen about Waitresses, bartenders etc. getting underpaid.

The Minnesota Legislature passed and the governor has signed a new Minnesota Wage Theft Law. The new law amends existing state labor laws and provides for new wage and hour requirements, protections and sanctions. This guidance highlights provisions of the new law that will require employers to review their current policies and practices and take necessary steps to bring those policies and practices into compliance with the requirements of the new law’s provisions.
