OMG just got email that "unconscious bias" training must be completed by all managers by 10/13!!! Can't help but laugh at the accuracy of this original post...

Blacks have been systematically held back for generations. After WWII, Blacks were not part of the GI Bill for education. White managers for decades didn’t want Blacks in their teams. As a result, the talent pool is not the same percentage as the Black population. CS erred in not staying this, he had to be all PC and apologize for his unconscious bias.

So is stating "unconsious bias" taking ownership for the words spoken?

I'm a tall, decent looking white man.

I do not and have never felt any hardship because of my gender or color.

People posting about how hard it is being white are why we have to take diverity classes.

Grow up.

@ebka, what's hard about being white when doors open for you wherever you go?

No one wants to hear that, especially in IT where it is true.

He’s moderating the course to make up for it.

He's sorry because it got leaked out and now he looks like a huge hypocrite.

But he's sorry! It was his "unconscious bias". But he's been talking to (and even enjoying) conversations with black people so I guess it's ok.
