Ather initially was to report to Scott but changed and he will report to Charlie. I think it was done primarily because he is black and to showcase that Charlie is hiring blacks. I bet all day to day reporting and stuff will be through Scott.

Charlie's apology letter to staff read like Trump's "where's my African-American" statement during a 2016 election rally. See - I have x # of black friends, so I can't be a racist. No real numbers provided and no empathy toward his obvious sentiment.

Do we even have a PR department to help fix this or is this WASPy man entitled to continually sabotage WF efforts to improve public perception?

pdd sometimes we ask headhunters to get us some candidates. it can be that the firms we request from dont have a diverse pool of ppl for this level in the banking world. Maybe they do have a diverse group but they are attorneys, etc. the point is not about hiring someone just bc of their skin color but about ATTEMPTING to make sure you are trying to give them a shot at AN INTERVIEW. is that so much to ask?

@pdd: I don’t think that is what people are saying at all. I think people are angry at Charlie for blaming his lack of black leaders/hires on a “ very limited pool of black” talent without ever giving anyone the opportunity to apply. People are saying that is his perception based on the limited circle he runs in, not the reality.

Whenever someone claims they have been unfairly treated due to biases, I try to put myself in their position. I am a white female, so I can relate coming from the perspective of a female. I can also relate coming from the perspective of a middle-class family who didn’t have everything handed to me. And I still have had it easier than most. So it’s not difficult for me to stand up for others.

So bring more applicants to the table that are minority and qualified todo the job.. the way your all talking is hiring someone JUST becuase of skin color.. nope.. ill take qualified over meeting and quata anyway..
