wow, try working on the west coast, pal. We can't even say anything to complain about a 5am or 6am PST meeting! Yet our colleagues on the east coast are barely out of bed at 7am ET and certainly not yet working. And this isn't recent either, been happening for years. But of course we on the west coast are mindful of our east coast colleagues and don't even schedule meetings based 1pm PT. I've had urgent meetings and apologized to ET for needing a 2pm PT and guess what, 95% of the time they are declined! I imagine this will only get worse as more shifts to NY. But I guess they don't want anyone on the west coast anymore anyway. That should be interesting when they see productivity numbers drop and a failure in BCP back up when there's winter storms on the east coast.

More west coast haters crawl out of the woodwork. What is it with you have nots?

(Cue rant about wildfires, homelessness, cost of living, etc. Tired playbook. So predictable. There are challenges across the U.S. in every state. Haters gonna' hate. Sick of it among passive-aggressive coworkers.)

I work in PST but shifted my working hours to those reflecting central time. I don't mind as long as I can log off accordingly.

@1qfm+175MCI2F It's definitely a tech thing. For the past year, the vast majority of domestic tech jobs have been posted in Charlotte. Every since Coffee tan Urine showed up, high-level massive meetings have started occurring in early AM PT hours.

This whole passive-aggressive attempt at natural attrition is pathetic. Management needs to sh– or get off the pot with it already.

If this is going on, it must be a tech thing. I’m in Corp Risk in CA and work with a lot of folks on both coasts and the midwest. All are very respectful and mindful of each other’s time and different time zones. The rare time or two I’ve received a 6 am meeting request, it’s been from an organizer who simply forgot to check participants’ time zones and quickly rectified the mistake once notified.

No one I've ever worked.with in CA ever scheduled meetings after 1 p.m. PT.

Total B.S. Tired of anger towards CA and west coast. Stop being so petty.

For technology this started when we gained a larger India footprint. It's all for catering to India.

This change was announced shortly after Chainsaw came aboard.

Well, it’s been obvious for awhile that the plan is to eliminate the west coast in general. California is definitely out.

@bal+175MCI2F those people are jerks. I always schedule meetings that involve the east coast in the early afternoon for them.

@pjd+175MCI2F My normal shift starts at 11 am PT and most of my team's work, which I am expected to participate in, occurs after the COW.

Of course being exempt I'll just show up an hour later to my normal start time, but this is still an inconvenience.

The power center has shifted to the east coast.

I always thought it was nuts that so many at the bank operated on PST, while every other financial firm operate on NYSE and D.C. time.

Just think, if you start your day at 6 am, you can finish at 2 pm local time. For the record, no one on the East Coast was super fond of meetings scheduled for 3 or 4 PST.
