About a year or so ago, they trimmed off a bunch of senior managers and old school peons. Since then they have been silent, but many managers have smaller than seven span. They have also consolidated us from our own executive to fall under a large operations ‘COE’. Has anyone heard any rumblings of cuts coming to TSG?

exactly! and the same goes for managed inboxes. a team’s old name is still being used as the inbox but the team has changed their name four times since creating the inbox. Its “too difficult” to update the box so we are relaying info to one team to reach out to another and half the time i forget what the box is titled or refer to the team and no one can find the box. So annoying!

True story: the name of our department no longer accurately describes the work we are doing after multiple reorgs. Financial Advisors have had trouble finding us for assistance for years because the name is so misleading. In fact it was always misleading, harking back to Wachovia days. We tried to get our name (and acronym) changed. It ultimately became a big deal: no one in the LOB could agree on a new name, and they thought it would be confusing to those who may already know the existing acronym. They couldn’t agree on a new acronym that “sounded good”. We finally had to give up the mission, and still have the same name and acronym today.
It could also be Trust Services Group over in WIM.
@yxs- You may be my soulmate! I have absolutely no idea what any of these acronyms are unless they are directly in my line of business. Can we just add the full name to the posts? Is it that hard? Thank you for you rant, made my day!
Ok I’m going to go off on a tangent here, but TSG could be Technology Services Group, Testing Solutions Group, Tactical Strategy Group.
Not coming down on you one bit, OP. I’m assuming you are from Technology Services Group?
But I do want to come down on the confusion generated by big banks insisting on using acronyms instead of department names. Who here can tell me, without looking it up, which department I am referring to when I say: IRT, CSBBO, XD, WFVC, ECEG?
Many employees (and I’ll bet leaders too) have NO IDEA which departments are being referred to unless we have direct dealings with them or they are in their LOB. When we get a Corporate communications about meetings, updates etc, I have to take additional time to try decipher who they are talking about. Because the rest of communication is meaningless without that.
I understand the trend has been with us for years, and it is supposed to save time, however the most basic point of a communication is to be clear and coherent.
It boils down to making even the most simple things more difficult than they have to be. Complicating and convoluting the basic straightforward decision, plan, product is where Wells Fargo goes wrong each and every day.
And that is my rant of the day.
