Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

So bad may not need layoffs

I work in the retail sector. The moral is so bad many are looking for an opportunity to leave asap. Recording complaints has gotten ridiculous. More pressure to do the extreme, was accounts per day and now complaints per day. This has created such an unproductive environment. The employees have to deal with this on top of no opportunity for any advancement, weekly scandals, constant worry of layoffs, customers that verbally abuse them because of past scandals, facing the fact that the public views our company as corrupt, upper leadership forcing liberal agenda just for sake of being politically correct, alerts to BM's for every little thing for coaching or corrective action for employees, and on and on. Sounds like a great place to works. If your not looking for another job you must enjoy the punishment.

I’m in retail and just watched the complaints video from Andy... ugh... “Customer complains that there’s a stain on the carpet, log the complaint! Customer complains that the clock is wrong, log the compliant!” Seriously?!?! He legitimately mentioned these things as real expectations. I understand the importance of logging legitimate complaints that help us improve, but this is just getting ridiculous. Is it just me or has this gone too far?? I wanted a job in financial services, not this b.s.

@iqx+170z7CEl and our collaborative "TMs" - Remember Red Trucks Matter (decal on a neighbor's truck). I am all for D/I, yet have experienced Reverse D. I hope folks are acknowledging all scenarios. And re: the C levs, I see right through their agendas, especially with your heads up and shares. thanks! Let's stick together.

The new East Coast management team has absolutely brought in a liberal mindset. What used to be a West Coast then Midwest pragmatism has been replaced by self-loathing and a culture of apologizing and finger-pointing. Going back several CEOs, D–k K would not have put up with this c**p.

"Liberal agenda".

Hilarious.

The programs you are whining about, D&I, are to protect the shareholders from lawsuits.

Wells, like all corporations, doesn't do anything that doesn't improve shareholder value.

Liberal agenda. From a bank!

Thanks for the laugh, I needed that.

Do employee complaints count towards your goals on number of complaints? Given recent activity on this board, I am sure you could meet your daily goals in 15 minutes by talking to a few coworkers.

The leadership in the retail bank is in self preservation mode. The pressure of cross selling loans and products has returned. We have monthly meetings with our regional president, district manager, and branch managers reviewing our production. The meetings are toxic and harassing. This culture will end up with another scandal

Since when is being a decent human being and respecting others a "Liberal agenda"?

It's pathetic that adults have to be told this in the first place.

The goal is to make your life so miserable you quit. Right now it’s to the point where we are phishing for complaints. This company can’t do anything right.

Complaints are bank wide. Not just retail. Managers are going out of their way looking for complaints.

I have the same question as someone in comment below...please expand on the filing of complaints thing. I’m not understanding the rationale...

Can confirm the misery that exists among front line employees. There is no ambition or drive, just showing up and collecting a check. I'm glad I'm working from home, I couldn't stand being around so much toxicity.

Can someone explain what the filing of complaints is all about? I spoke to someone about a month ago in another state, it was a follow up call. He was a contract worker who was displaced 3 days later. Said there was not enough work.

If I get fired I will close my five type of accounts with Wells Fargo. I hope everyone will do this if they are hurt by them.

The low morale is not limited to just the branches, it's over the entire bank and it won't get better for years. I didn't used to dread coming to work, now I do. Oh and I'm looking, just harder to do during a pandemic.

You do have the same Software (Engineering) Manager over the Complaints software development group that managed SVP (Store Vision Platform). Think about it. :-) There is a reason for that.

Exactly how I feel.... Every. Single. Day. I dread going to work. Constant anxiety wondering... Did I log enough complaints today, did the bm get any alerts on me today, when do layoffs start in the branch.... Exhausting and disheartening. I used to love going to work.

I'm sure that is by design. Natural attrition is cheaper than paying a severance.
