Watching a dumb TV show and a prison guard says “We can’t have the inmates talking to each other, they might be planning an escape.” I laughed, because I’ll bet WFC does not like this Discussion Board, where we can talk freely to each other.
Is anything top secret revealed out here? Probably not, but it is a place where employees can share some information and insight. And more importantly, come together regarding their opinions on the quality/lack of quality of our leadership. Wells Fargo management would prefer that we each feel alone in noticing their weaknesses, their tactics, their self-serving ways. They know knowledge is power and they LOVE to hoard the information and the power. And they most certainly know there is strength in numbers.
We each get some type of benefit out here. It’s especially helpful since we are all WFH. Less ability to gossip over the water cooler. I, previously, learned quite a bit from contacts in other departments while walking the halls from meeting to meeting. We have our share of trolls and fake news on this board, but there is also a great group of contributors and supporters who make it valuable to me.
Sometimes I laugh out loud (“Shrewsberry Dinkleberry”), sometimes I vent my frustrations, I always enjoy hearing from those in other LOBs, or the different perspectives of those who have been here a long-time vs the newer employees. I don’t enjoy the finger-pointing between employees, personally, but I guess it comes along with the territory in a lay-off situation where our management has gone dark.
So, to my fellow inmates: Cheers to us. Thank you for contributing. As a group, we have more influence than we would on our own. Let’s take back our power, and support each other, however we can.
