@4Ybuo+16zEvLP3 FAKE NEWS!!!!

According to my sources, AWS will be cut for sure. Talking points being worked. Got Shopee into the benchmarking exercise, but didn’t change the end results because Shopee don’t really pay that well.

J repeat- there’s still too many people staying in the firm, and levels of attrition are well below expectations. Mgmt was hoping more will leave but not too many (in CL26+) is taking the bait.

1 sg engineer for 3 kltc engineers. Moreover, we KL engineers are more efficient.

Our 3-month AWS alone, in SGD, is equivalent to fresh Thai engineers’ annual salary in Thai Baht!
Buahahahaha !!! :D

That’s why the Thai HR is green with envy!

All attrition is good attrition. Good chance to get rid of lazy Singaporean workers who only know how to whine on a layoff board. AWS can be cut but no one will leave!

@4Ybuo+16zEvLP3 must be from Affairs or HR. Trying hard to use a tiny handy plaster strip to cover a deep wide wound cut that won't stop bleeding. Laughable.

@4Ybuo+16zEvLP3 How sad and pathetic are u to leave your fate depending on others ‘ actions ! Take control of your life … company’s fate relies on mercy of OPEC + which is sad enough…. Here you wait and sit around hoping for more pple to resign in order to hope for better increment ? Why allow ur dignity to sink that Low ? You mean years of working in the company has eroded your self worth to nought? Have more faith in yourself , the world is bigger than EM . EM is going to be the “ used to be “ great company , have the courage to step out to look for the “to be” company if your runway is still long. Don’t pin your hope on a sinking titanic …

Man, I love this scenario. Do you all stay and face possible aws cut, or do some of you leave (for better or for worse) and let these bitter, XOM>>SEA whiners keep their fat aws? Talk about dilemma!

AWS cuts will come. If attrition doesn’t increase any time soon, everyone can look forward to a best case scenario of 1 additional month AWS. It will be packaged as we are doing you a favor by giving you one additional month vs no AWS at all.

Even our HR has gone to Shopee. What are you waiting for? Shopee is hiring.

Beyond shopee, there’s also Facebook, Amazon, Google, Apple, companies that don’t treat their employees like sh-t- and offer free drinks and food in their pantries, regardless if oil is at -30 or at 150. So don’t be the last stupid guy left holding the bag.

Worst still- your loyalty won’t be rewarded. You have 5 pax in your PA pool. 4 has left. Now you are the only 1. You will be merged into a regional and global pool where your efforts can’t be noticed, and 8-10% NSI is required. Who will they throw under a bus first? Is it the Singaporean person whose name they can’t pronounce, or is it their coworker in the States where they can have beer after work with no masks on? All the best!

as part of the corporate plan, the departures are still below plan/expectations. So a lot more need to leave before we see a restoration of benefits + of course oil prices need to rebound

4Vljb+16zEvLP3,

Why wait for news of bonus and increment. Go for job interview, if u get an offer, quit and go. When u meet a new gf who cherishes u more than current one , would u wait for another one night shack before leaving ? Come on ! Set your sight further don’t be myopic .

Seems like a lot of the Singaporean workers want to be the band members playing the musical instruments as Titanic sinks. That’s nice. I suppose that’s We Are ExxonMobil for you.

The company is betting on you not leaving pal. See how much sh-t you can take before you quit. And once you leave, position is moving to China and India. This is a high costs place. No place for costly Singaporeans who whine and whine on layoff boards.

What HR and top management need to realise is that as long as the 8% NSI load shed is sustained every year (notwithstanding the extension of salary freeze, promotions and removal of AWS) - that in itself, will be the trigger and impetus for most people to want to leave!! Bottom and top performers alike, regardless. Age will be the key deciding factor and the desire … even desperation to want to leave the company will be inversely proportional with age/YEE.

It’s all about job (IN)security.

Imagine yourself going for an interview in a new company and the interviewer tells you:
“Our company strives to hire the best and more than that - keep only the top performers.
So we have a system whereby the bottom 8-20% performers will be severed each year, as part of our “cleansing” exercise.

Now, would you want to join such a company - when you will have countless nightmares about your job, e.g. whenever you make mistakes, don’t meet deadlines, get reprimanded by the boss, investigated upon on indiscretions, not following procedures, failing LPSAs big time and continue sliding down the PA rankings each year ….. and the list goes on.

@4Vljb+16zEvLP3 Not only NSI candidates threw in the towel but also top performers start looking for jobs to jump. We don’t feel secured anymore in this company.

If EM continues with 8% PIP yearly as well as decided to cut bonus or pay freeze again end of this year, most of the employees below age 45 will leave the company.

The only regret I have in my career is I was stupid enough to cancel my oversea holiday trip because of last minute shutdown support required from me. We used to feel proud and accomplished even though work continuously 13 days in TA/project start up.

If HR manager or management see this post, we are waiting for the news of pay freeze or bonus cut so that can make decisions quickly.

Increments and AWS cuts are not mutually exclusive. Both can occur at the same time. #winning! Especially when it will never occur to DW or GC though.
