  1. Heard overall salary p-t is cut for Singapore.
  1. with limited p-t, more money going towards where the attrition is - CL22-25
  1. promotions also occurring more frequently at those junior CL level
  1. GC has always shared her thoughts that CL27-29 are overpaid, thus the attrition numbers are low at those bands. can’t expect high % or absolute amounts for this year’s increment even with an outstanding performance. The thinking is that people at these levels don’t leave anyway, and the company can test that resolve.

Looking forward to be right by December when they announce increment numbers.

Heard from a senior. 20% is possible for sure especially during good years. Also true even at high CL levels (>26) so you can imagine how the salary rise is exponential for those who do well. So that defines the upper limit. But it also means have to chiong.. So to each his own la

If you are to get a promotion, you’ll only get it in Jan 2022, with your next increment.
Not this year.

A 20% increment (with promotion) for a base salary of (say) $6K = $1,200. No big deal, I had given even more of such previously, but only to my deserving staff - usually the Hi-pos.

So to all you up and coming, you’d need to prove yourself first, before setting your remuneration expectations high. Otherwise, you will only circulate with the mediocre.

Yup, I respect the successful seniors above me who have made it in EM during their “yesterday years”, as you have put it - now in their 50-somethings and cruising to a comfortable retirement over the next 10+ years.
With own-stay landed property, investment private apartment(s) collecting passive income, a pile of cash savings / FDs, EM stock options, other maturing investment instruments, a paid-for country club membership, interest-free car loan (the last couple have now been taken away).

It’s possible to get 20% for OPD if you get promotion and if your base is low. Otherwise, apply to big tech. Heard they are hiring aggressively and willing to pay. Google even has free food while EM takes away your vending machine and your nepresso. Think about it.

With a CL promotion, Merit Increase (tia kong, this will be removed for 2022) and Special Adjustment (this may also go one), even a >20% increment is possible.
In yesterday years …..

But gone are the good old days hor.

Blessed are those who had enjoyed the vintage EM remuneration system and made their hay while the sun shined - they will have a good runway to retirement!

If I’m ranked OPD and get a promotion this year possible to get 20%?

Dude, 20% increment is possible…

In your dreams…. OR

If you are Darren Woods…

Otherwise, just go to Shopee for that increment.

All, AWS will be prorated, so you don’t have to wait until year end to leave. You can still get your prorated AWS if you leave now. Hope that helps the folks!

Yup, a few had already accepted jobs, to begin in Jan 2022 - AFTER they receive their 3 month AWS!

@6Kwyh+16zEvLP3 Yes, I expected another wave of resignations after Jan 22. I hope managers and SLSs are prepared for it. But most likely, they are not.

Pretty sure those <3 years employees who are still around are waiting for the increment communication. If minimal increment, one more wave of resignation.

January 2022, of course.
That is, if you get one (cos not everyone will receive an increment).

Not what I see pal, and I’m in a position to approve promotions. Promotions are given out like free candy unless you are going into CL28, then your VP better know you by your first name and know your wife/children/maid’s name.

All levels below 28, if you are not getting promotions, it means you really need to rethink your future here, because your peers and your supervisors and your peers peers are getting promoted except you. What’s that message for you?

People hear rumors that many will get “long overdue” promotions next year.
But really, you have to be an Excellent-or-better performer AND below CL25 to get a promotion from within a job.
For those CL25 (and CL27) awaiting to be promoted to the next CL (26, or 28, respectively), you will need to wait longer to accumulate sufficient YEE, before you become eligible ….. UNLESS you are deemed Hi-po material and advancing to your next designated SH, or DH position.
So for the majority of we mediocres, it’s a sad “Sorry Jose”. Please be more patient!

Leave the room when respect is no longer served . For the young , you have long runway ahead … you are not just settling for a job but a career. This deeply entrenched fossil fuel company do U think can last so long? As for the old folks, they are just kicking cans down the slope , going thru the grind. 做一天和尚敲一天钟,till the sun set down over the horizon. The company is game over … like many Titans of yesteryears . Poor leadership is one main reason. Young or old , none in better shape … except those old folks who are near retirement . Those in the 40s good luck …. Make sure u save hard super hard for early retirement or retrenchment . As for the young, invest your time wisely with companies or industries that have longer runway. I have just tendered … I felt so relief and liberated. No an easy decision, but the Mgmt and way the company is heading help me cross the watershed . Good luck folks .

Can’t be giving increments to everyone right? It’s only reserved for those favored by management. For the rest, just work harder on your next PA.

There are basically less positions especially high paid positions, in order to move the music chair, DM and DH or higher managers need to move, then business line leaders got room to move up, but there are many out there waiting and waiting, fact. So your turn to SLS, leadership positions, manager will have to stay wait, on paper they said will promote within the position do u believe? It just way to give u some hook and stay on, all come down to cost, as whole industry is struggling, competition within industry on your own talent doesn’t make sense anymore, you have to compare same level of skills that you can translate to value creation in other industry and pay offer. As many are waiting in the line to get moved to a better assignment, your chance will be lower. A wave of sending ppl overseas assignments will never come back, but selected FEW will still go. Then promotion within the same position will be just kidding u after you wait for 5-10yrs. A very big portion of your lifetime career, so everyone have to think for themselves, how this company turn out in next 5-10yrs by the way going forward. How Singapore site look like in 5-10yrs, 20yrs.

Wake up.....dont just think you are from nus ntu must be bloody elite.Ask why Exxon is in such a state...the bitter truth is the insane pay scale that the past generations have been enjoying. Those who went Shopee....are they enjoying such perks. Keen to know. Also Hod in 30s..in their traje tory.. stop deluding yourselves.....脚踏实地。from true blue sgrean who is not hod.

Truth be told that to have a “planned” career in EM, you will need to reach a CL28/29 designated position (e.g. Department Head, or equivalent), by your late-30s to 40-yrs old.
If that does not happen yet by the time you’re in your mid-40s, it confirms that you are one of the many, “mid-to-bottom-third” masses in EM (aka non-hiPo).
For the latter (majority), you’re better off re-booting your career elsewhere that will provide you with a different trajectory till retirement.
The earlier you realise it, the better.

I left EM recently, in part because my mentor (CL 33) asked me in regards to our recruiting efforts, “EM has been a fantastic place for my career, but honestly, don’t you have to question the intelligence of anyone looking to start NOW as a twenty five year old?”

Leave now on your terms and you enter a booming economy with companies begging for talent. Leave on EM’s terms a few years from during the next recession and best of luck.

More people leaving doesn’t change the PIP numbers. Just putting it out there. Don’t want you guys r be disappointing thinking that high attrition rates will lead to reversal of policies. If there’s one thing Darren hates doing, it’s admitting he’s got it wrong. So high attrition is a small price to pay for his pride.

by

Post ID: @6Bsxm+16zEvLP3

I suggest all to leave EM if you can find a similar pay job. No point staying to get PIP.

We should all then continue to negatively influence more young ones to leave.
This will set the scene for a more stable 2022 PA outcome, with a much lower NSI target (3%?).
That’s something we can all look forward to.
On the themes of the Squid Game and Alice in Borderland, we need to sacrifice something, in order to gain something!
